    Default Continued leftist idealogy that is paving the way for the mark of the beast

    The dangers of bone-headed beliefs

    Surely it's time for climate-change deniers to have their opinions forcibly tattooed on their bodies.

    Not necessarily on the forehead; I'm a reasonable man. Just something along their arm or across their chest so their grandchildren could say, ''Really? You were one of the ones who tried to stop the world doing something? And why exactly was that, granddad?''

    On second thoughts, maybe the tattooing along the arm is a bit Nazi-creepy. So how about they are forced to buy property on low-lying islands, the sort of property that will become worthless with a few more centimetres of ocean rise, so they are bankrupted by their own bloody-mindedness? Or what about their signed agreement to stand, in the year 2040, lashed to a pole at a certain point in the shallows off Manly? If they are right and the world is cooling - ''climate change stopped in the year 1998'' is one of their more boneheaded beliefs - their mouths will be above water. If not

    This is how it starts people calling for those who don't agree with them to be marked BUT IN THE END it will be those whom agree with Satan who will be marked...

    There is no doubt that the climate is changing. Nor is there any doubt that it has changed many times before. At one time they grew grapes in northern Newfoundland and tropical fruits in Britain. 300 years later people starved to death there because it became so cold that the Thames River froze and none of the crops that people had been growing could grow in the land. The cycle is a long one and spans hundreds of years.

    The issue now is not whether there is climate change. The question is whether the activities of mankind have exacerbated the natural megacycle and brought us to a point of warming that is a) greater than previously experienced during the last warm spell a few hundred years ago or, b) more importantly, is beyond the capacity of the planet to recover equilibrium without previously-unknown major climatic processes that may be disastrous for flora and fauna, including humans.

    Now I am not concerned that man will destroy this planet. The Bible clearly says we will not. God will. And He will do it not in the process of man living in his own way but by a manifest, observable act of His judgment that will leave no doubt that the God of the Universe has raised up and taken to Himself His power in all things, once and for all.

    However, having said that, we are to be good stewards of this planet and should be living in a responsible way, not carelessly polluting because it is cheaper or easier. Mine is not a call for veneration of the land and the oceans (which is what many in the radical ecological movements espouse), but rather a call for responsible management until the Lord Jesus Christ returns in His glory and takes up rule in Jerusalem.

    Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

    Indeed it is written, God can and will lay waste the Earth:

    Isaiah 24:1-3
    1 See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth
    and devastate it;
    he will ruin its face
    and scatter its inhabitants—
    2 it will be the same
    for priest as for people,
    for the master as for his servant,
    for the mistress as for her servant,
    for seller as for buyer,
    for borrower as for lender,
    for debtor as for creditor.
    3 The earth will be completely laid waste
    and totally plundered.
    The LORD has spoken this word.
    However, the sins of mankind will indeed play a part in the impending disaster, as scientists have been saying about petro fuels since at least the 1950's:

    Isaiah 24:4-6
    4 The earth dries up and withers,
    the world languishes and withers,
    the heavens languish with the earth.
    5 The earth is defiled by its people;
    they have disobeyed the laws,
    violated the statutes
    and broken the everlasting covenant.

    6 Therefore a curse consumes the earth;
    its people must bear their guilt.
    Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up,
    and very few are left.
    Denying culpability while contributing to the problem has done much to discredit Christians while making secular liberals look good. On the flip side, Robert has just relocated from secular New England to the Bible Belt South, and the contrast couldn't be more clear. In New England, the social dynamic is ruled by sin, and negativity and death are the norm up there. Down here the social dynamic is rooted in Christianity, and for all our faults, kindness and family values really shine in the contrast. It isn't just Robert noticing the difference, his Father, who will be 84 this week and who is in a local nursing home noticed right away the kindness of the local folks. Trust us, there is a huge difference...
    Psalm 73:28

    28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.

    Matt, you nailed this one.

    I don't believe there is anything we can do, short of nuclear winter, that the earth is not capable of repairing. This may help to explain the strange weather the entire world has been experiencing for the past few years.

    But I also agree that we are to be good stewards of the land the Lord has provided for us.
    Ephesians 5:18 (New King James Version)

    18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

    I Come To The Garden Alone Hymn

    And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
    And He tells me I am His own;
    And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.
