Japan's Nuclear Rescuers: 'Inevitable Some of Them May Die Within Weeks'

    Published March 31, 2011

Workers at the disaster-stricken Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan say they expect to die from radiation sickness as a result of their efforts to bring the reactors under control, the mother of one of the men tells Fox News.

The so-called Fukushima 50, the team of brave plant workers struggling to prevent a meltdown to four reactors critically damaged by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, are being repeatedly exposed to dangerously high radioactive levels as they attempt to bring vital cooling systems back online.

Speaking tearfully through an interpreter by phone, the mother of a 32-year-old worker said: “My son and his colleagues have discussed it at length and they have committed themselves to die if necessary to save the nation.

“He told me they have accepted they will all probably die from radiation sickness in the short term or cancer in the long-term.”

The woman spoke to Fox News on the condition of anonymity because, she said, plant workers had been asked by management not to communicate with the media or share details with family members in order to minimize public panic.

The EU is one big crisis.....followed by the next crisis....and the next.... and the next.
The mythical EU and the Imaginary Eurozone...........

The essence of political liberalism is hypocrisy.

Anybody know how many people were killed during the first month or two of chernobyl, and how many died in the following years from cancers and such? The thing about nuclear radiation is that it can be a slow agonizing death.

There were 800,000 of them who worked on cleaning up Chernobyl, and many have since died.

Here's the story of one survivor:

Here is a link to a panel discussion on the comparison of Chernoble and Dachi disasters. One of the panel experts has devoted her career to studying health and long term radiation exposure at all levels. Japan Nuclear Plant Crisis and Chernobyl Anniversary - C-SPAN Video Library

No matter who you are or where you are, always remember those in your prayers who voluntarily place themselves in harms way, ready always to make the ultimate sacrifice for those they do not know.

No greater Love has a man, than he give it up for his friend. Now that is Agape. They may fare well when they stand before Judgment, we can only pray they do. God knows.

Ironically, for what it is worth, praying for a person, by name, should almost be impossible, by now, or very soon. Though it may be quite generic, I pray for every soul on planet earth, even the Faithful, so they do not 'Fall-away.' I pray for the unsaved, also, knowing that so very many will not offer their hearts to Jesus, and would rather gamble with their eternity, which they are.

And He told the scribe to go forth, and mark the forehead of all who cried out for his fellow man, against the abominations, and then told the Angels to go slay all those without God's mark upon their forehead. Our prayer need be deep and moaning, no other prayer will do, except when we are praising, so the Joy can come shining through. Eze 9:3-11 AMEN

May we be counted worthy of falling on our faces before His Throne, and not suffer Death. AMEN

Thanks for that reminder Sean. Yes we should be remembering all those that willingly put their lives on the line for our safety.

Lord please touch the workers that are fighting the nuclear disaster and protect their lives and health.

    PREMEDITATED MURDER.

Please pray for those who are working on this plant trying to cool it down. There's a Baptist Church in Fukishima called Fukishima Baptist Church. It has about 200 members, but they all had to flee when the tsunami came. Many of them left all their earthly goods behind. There's about 50 of them in a shelter with the pastor of the church who is watching over them. He sends out updates on his cell phone to his blog and he said that some of the members of the church went back to Fukishima to help cool down the power plant. They voluntarily placed their own lives on the line, knowing that they would probably die in order to save others in the nation. Those who went back to help out are witnessing to the others who are working on the plant as well. And some are having an impact. Please pray for them that God would use this disaster to save many.
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27
