    Default ‘Arab-Israeli conflict hurts US’

WASHINGTON – US Gen. David Petraeus charged Tuesday that the Arab-Israeli conflict hurts America’s ability to advance its interests in the Middle East, fomenting anti-American sentiment and limiting America’s strategic partnerships with Arab governments.

    ?Arab-Israeli conflict hurts US?

And therein lies the problem. Being a friend to Israel is not in the US government's "best interest".

So, has the general become another believer in the end justify the means? So we are understand he thinks it's better for us to stop ally association with Israel to court or woo the arab nations? NEVER! Israel is the only legitimate nation in the middle east. They are the only country from the region who speaks for what is right over what appears convenient.

Lets remind the good general, we have tried the "kiss the ring", send 'em bucks, and pretend we like their politics for years and it's gotten us nowhere. Remember, Kaddafi buckled to fears we would bomb them into oblivion.

General David Petraeus is dead wrong. The Arab-Israeli conflict does not hurt the US. The Arab-Israeli conflict is, in fact, a golden opportunity for the US to receive the blessing God has promised to those who bless Israel. Period.

Ignore and pray for General David Petraeus on this subject.

Here's an American general worth listening to.

you know, many israelis including myself are thinking many times on how it is that so many people have so much hatred for us. but i never seen before an entire conference of people talking about their love to israel. i knew we are loved in the christian community in the US but this is the first time i have actually seen something like this. and i appreciate it. i want to thank sean for publishing this video.
every time the general was referring to israel as "god's chosen people" i kept having a serious feeling of humility. it seems like american christians are feeling like we are in some way higher in god's eyes.
(for this esteemed commander to speak in such a way is truly astonishing to me.)
well i dont believe this to be true. in my studies with the religious community i heard many times explanations why god chose one people and not all people. and never have i been told that the reason has anything to do with us being superior in his eyes. or superior in any other way. i have already posted some of these explanations as the rabbies have told them to me.
in any case you already know the word of god and you learn it just as much as we do and in some cases more. i dont think its israel as light onto the nations anymore. i think its israel and the US together as equal partners being light onto the nations and trying to fight for what is right and against what is wrong.

just consider this next story. i was once told by a rabbi in a synagogue that i am like gold and the rest of the students are like silver. so i felt kind of uncomfortable and asked him why is that. he said that the other students are all haredim (the religious group in israel) and have been going to the synagogue since forever. while i chose to come on my own.
well if you think of it, israel has been doing whatever its been doing out of necessity. we didnt have too many options anyway. but the US is following god's will out of choice. even when the blind keep threatening and demanding that you stop. so thats just how i feel about this whole situation.

    ronen,

Israel is the apple of the Lord's eye, it is from Israel, the line of David, that the redemption of all mankind from sin came. His name is Jesus/Yeshua. No man goes to the Father except through Jesus. He is the Lamb whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of all sin.

Ronen, Sean is absolutely right in what he has just written. The Jews were "chosen" because they are the literal descendants of Father Abraham to whom God made the promise that through his line He would send Messiah. Now just because Messiah came the first time almost two thousand years ago does not mean that God no longer has an interest in Abraham's sons and daughters. Not at all. As the great scholar and apostle to the Gentile believers in Yeshua, the Rabbi Sha'ul Ha Tarsi wrote about 58 C.E: "The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." The Greek word means "without regret." God is not done with teh Jews by a long shot!

The early church began exclusively with Jews. (The addition of the Gentiles was always part of God's plan, being spoken of in the prophets.) And today, two thousand years later, thousands of Jews around the world are still discovering from the law and the prophets as Ruach HaKodesh reveals it to them that Yeshua HaMashiach did not create a new heretical religion but instead brought to perfection the one handed down to Abraham and encoded into law through Moshe Rabbenu. The Jew who accepts Messiah discovers that he has been completed in his faith. He discovers that his faith is now not mere rituals and laws but a living, soul changing relationship with the Maker of the universe.

This country and government is going to be judged for its own atrocities. God is not going to bless this country. He does and will bless those individuals who bless Israel.
God will judge this country for not blessing Israel and for turning its back to Him. If we turned it around, God would indeed bless this country once again. If only the Christians in this nation behaved like true Christians and demonstrated in meaningful ways the moral and spiritual leadership and courage necessary.
We can and should make a difference. Why we don't is what I'd like to know the answer to.
