Doesn't sound too different to me, than the muslim patrols that club women if they show their wrists or ankles.

I remember when I went to a Christian school if they thought the girls' skirts were too high (they had to wear skirts) the school would actually measure with a ruler to make sure they were an acceptable length. I wish I had thought of the term Modesty Patrol back then. Love it!

did they throw rocks at them?

it shows they have NO control.

we were expected to wear appropriate clothing, but no one would have ever thought of throwing a rock at someone.
    or beating them ect.....

No I don't recall any rocks. That's quite extreme and disgusting.

Any little tidbit to bash the Jews. We really shouldn't be feeding into MSNBC's one sided game of bias.

I don't believe anything they print anymore as they clearly have a liberal agenda and the next thing you know they will have an article about the atrocity that a woman chose to KEEP her baby and give birth to it and it is equal to a crime because the woman doesn't wear Prada.

What a joke the main Stream media is and we should not help push their trash.

That used to happen in our school decades ago...and it was a public school. As a boy, you could get your hair measured to make sure it wasn't touching your collar.

The Orthodox burn Messianic bookstores, and assault Messianic Jews. I have read this, and can't remember if it was from Voice of the Martyrs, or from the newsletter I get from the California couple who sold everything they had, moved to Israel, and now witness/feed/clothe and give whatever health care they can to the Jewish people. I totally believe the modesty story. The Orthodox are screwy. Let's not start thinking that because they are Jews, they are somehow above human foibles.

I agree. Being Jewish does not take them above reproach.

I just happen to know that MSNBC will deify a homosexual and make an abortion seem like the best thing a woman can do so for them to bring out this article just causes me to be extremely suspicious of the facts and their motive.

    I posted another link...

so before we vilify msnbc too, we need to do some homework.
nothing wrong with not just accepting it for face value, but check and see if its true or not.

I have a myriad of reasons for vilifying MSNBC - I don't need this article to push it over the edge. They did that a long time ago.

If the article is accurate in its description then this must be one of those that MSNBC printed to keep their validity up. But I am sure they loved posting it to attack the Jews.

MSNBC is doing everything to push everything Christians hate.
They push the homosexual agenda. They push abortion on demand. They are pushing Obama and bashing McCain and Palin.
They push hate towards Christians. They are evil.

all I'm saying is to judge rightly in all things.

    never said they were good....

but we should always check and see if its truth.

their heart intentions are Gods problem not mine.

Unfortunately there is a group of ultra-orthodox people in Israel who from time to time take it upon themselves to enforce their interpretation of Mosaic and rabbinical law on other Israelis. They are the modern day equivalent of the Pharisees, an indication that the loveless spirit of legalism is alive and well. Like the ultra-fundamental Islamicists they are convinced they alone are doing God's will. Their fervour, perhaps, is admirable. Their practices are not. And, frankly, they cannot see the beams in their own eyes as they seek to remove the splinters from others. It was against these sorts of people that Jesus spoke, and Paul warned.

Thanks Matt you said it better and nicer than I could/would say it.

RyanMac did they measure the skirt from the floor to the hem? What about an approved skirt on a really tall girl. Wouldn't she make a skirt look to short?
