I had a dream and I know that dreams are not something that can be verified and are extremely subjective. The message of this dream was so clear and urgent, I felt I would share it. If it is not allowed I understand if this blog disappears.

The dream was during a time of extreme persecution of Christians. A group of Christians were living together in a secret location. They were on the move because they had been found out. The young people were all so stubborn and unteachable. They were more interested in being right than they were afraid of being caught. The inability to control the young people led to them being discovered. Many renounced their Christianity instead of being killed.

They wondered why they had been left behind in the first place. They went to church on Sundays and even Wednesday sometimes. A very old man, with shoulder length white hair told them. "You believed in your worthiness to be saved, you did not believe in the Savior".

When I awoke I wondered if this is possible. Is it possible that young people today are being led to believe they are worthy of salvation, without asking them to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, His death on the cross for our sins and His defeat of the grave through His resurrection? If this is the case then yes, they will be lost, because we could never be worthy enough, He paid for us, but we are required to have faith. Not faith in ourselves and our own worthiness, but faith in Christ and faith that he truly paid our debt.

I pray that everybody that seeks You finds You, they are not led astray by leaders and preachers that teach their own agenda appeasing the masses instead of spreading the Truth which is Your Word.

OK, I have two prayer requests tonight to pass along.

The first is for my mother, and her outpatient foot surgery Monday morning at 8:00 AM. My father e-mailed the following details: "As I understand it, from what the doctor said, he will break some bone and then insert pins and screws to put it back together again so her toes on her right foot will grow back straight. As it is now, three toes are not straight and it makes walking difficult and there is a real possibility she can stumble and fall. One toe is a 'hammer toe' that is basically disconnected at the joint. She will also have a large bunion removed from that foot, which the doctor says is the real cause of all her problems. (There is a possibility that sometime in the future she may have to have the other foot done as well, although it is not nearly as bad shape as the right one.) This is said to be a very painful procedure and the doctor ordered some high powered pain meds for after. So, pray for the doctor to use all the skill he has to do the procedure right. Pray that the surgery accomplishes what it is supposed to accomplish. Pray that infection does not set in. Pray that Mom tolerates the pain well. Pray that when we get home I can get her in the house, since I will be alone and she will still be groggy and unable to walk on her right foot. (I'm wondering how I will accomplish this task!) Surgery should take 1 1/2 hours with another hour for recovery before we start home. Then comes one-two weeks of recovery at home. She has to wear a boot any time she gets up for bathroom or whatever. She also has a special cover to wear in the shower. Just pray for the whole situation that God will be in charge and all goes well from the moment we leave the house Monday at 7:00 AM until she is fully recovered and back on both feet again. I know that is a lot of praying but that's what we need. Pray for me too that God will grant me patience and wisdom in helping her recover. I'm praying the healing time is considerably less than two weeks! Thanks! God bless. Love Dad"

One answer to the prayers that I "pestered" the Lord with last night and this morning is that a member of their church will be at their house all day, doing work on their house. He has assured them assistance in getting mom into the house when they get home. Thank you, Lord! For the rest, your prayers are coveted!

Also, I have a friend whom I have learned is separated from his wife. They have been married in the 5-7 year range. (Not sure, exactly). He was not a believer when they were first married although she was, and he accepted Christ after they were married. If I remember correctly, I believe it was within their first year or two of marriage, and I recall that he credited her prayers for him and her witnessing to him for playing a large role in his "conversion." For a number of years, now, he has had to work in an area quite different than the one he worked in for many years, but he gamely got the necessary credentials for his new job and has been in his new position, providing for his family, etc. I know that there have been some health issues in their home, but don't know exactly what has happened to cause their separation. Nor do I need to know, really. What I DO know is that the Minions of Hell are determined to destroy every marriage they possibly can, and it seems that they have now zeroed in on my friend and his wife. He has asked that I pray for them, and I promised that I would. (And, I have). Please join me in asking that the Father would have the Holy Spirit minister to them both, counseling forgiveness where necessary, understanding for both, and remembrance of not only their common faith in Jesus Christ, but also the reason(s) they married to being with. It breaks my heart to hear of marriages failing, and I feel a special burden for my friend and his wife. Please keep them in prayer, and pray that God will help them stop the Satanic attack on their home and family, for that is all this is -- an attack from Satanic forces.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers, and God Bless!

*This is an UPDATE concerning my wife's recovery from surgery...

This is an UPDATE concerning my wife's recovery from surgery.

Well, tonight, my wife's mother is staying with her, again. Early Saturday morning, my wife awoke, having to visit the restroom in a hurry. Praise God, her "system" had begun to function, again! However, this continued to be the case throughout the rest of the night, and most of Saturday morning -- another "trip" every couple of hours. Worse, her stomach began to hurt, and it only got worse as the day progressed. Additionally, she became nauseous, and began to chill, only to switch to sweating and more and more discomfort. Then, more chills... Finally, by noontime, she began to vomit for several straight minutes. I was NOT pleased!

Now, the doctors DID note that these types of occurrences were possible as her digestive system "restarted," after suddenly "shutting down" as a result of the surgery. However, my wife began to wonder if the morphine drip -- which she controlled via a push-button release system -- was perhaps the root of the problem. So, by noontime, she decided to stop using it altogether. She has had a painkiller prescription for the Crohn's pain for over a year, and she asked the nurses if she could instead take some of the medication that she has a prescription for, in lieu of the morphine. They contacted the surgeon, who gave her permission, provided my wife could get some food on her stomach before taking the medicine. Praise the Lord, she was able to get some down and keep it down, and they gave her the other medication. The nurses had been asking her the, "On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the worst possible, how would you rate your pain?" question. All day, she'd been rating it at around a "five." By the time I left, today, she was rating her pain at about a "two," and the nausea and chills and sweats had all subsided! Praise the Lord!

Sunday is the first possible day -- if all is in order concerning her general, physical condition -- that she might be discharged. Her last words to me before I left the hospital were, "Say your prayers that I can go HOME, tomorrow!" And so, that is my prayer! Of course, if all is not "right," and she is not ready to leave, then they'll keep her on Sunday and evaluate on Monday. After church on Sunday, I'll change and head back to the hospital...HOPEFULLY to bring her home!

I just thank everyone for all of your prayers and well-wishes! I am convinced that the surgery would not have been such a success without all of the prayers to God in Heaven that the saints have offered up for my wife! Please pray with me now for the fastest-possible, SAFE AND HEALTHY discharge for her from the hospital.

Thanks again, and God Bless!

This thread is an UPDATE for the thread, "My wife is having surgery just hours from now...(0830, EST)"

OK, I am home tonight, as my wife's mother requested that I allow her to stay with her daughter tonight. I'm sure a little "mothering" will only help the recovery! So, I have this chance to update everyone!

Firstly, we were in place by 0640 Wednesday morning, and they "took her back," from the "prep" area, around 0740. HOWEVER, they did not actually start the surgery until @ 0915, and they finished around noon time. They paged us to meet the surgeon @ 1200-1215, Wednesday. Her first words were, "The surgery went very, very well," -- PRAISE BE TO GOD!!! -- "and I think that this will help her a great deal."

With Crohn's Disease, there are two main problems: 1) active inflammation, and 2) scarring and scar tissue. "Active inflammation" refers to the affected portion of the digestive tract being afflicted with inflammation that results in pain -- sometimes, a GREAT DEAL OF PAIN -- especially when food passes through said area. "Scarring" refers to the inflammation causing ulcerations, which leaves scar tissue. This scar tissue -- if there is enough of it -- can eventually result in a blockage of the digestive tract, and the scar tissue WILL result in pain as food passes through this area. Physicians prefer to treat "active inflammation" with medication in an attempt to reduce the swelling. Once scarring has become too great, surgery is generally the ONLY option. Even though the average small intestine in the "average" American is 22.5-23.5 feet long (the large intestine averages 4.5 feet), surgeons are still hesitant to operate and remove any portion of intestine unless it is NECESSARY. My wife's condition has not responded to ANY medication for over a year, and numerous endoscopies, CT scans, and MRIs all showed no scarring, but only inflammation. But, as she does not respond to any medications, the doctors finally agreed that surgery was necessary to try to restore a "quality of life"to her.

Thus, it is understandable that there was almost a bit of amazement in the surgeon's voice as she continued, "The section that I removed was like a lead pipe. The healthy tissue, you could touch, and it was healthy and pliable, but the diseased portion was hard, like a lead pipe! It's no wonder that she was in such pain, and I think that this surgery will really, really help her." WOW! ALL OF THOSE TESTS, and NONE OF THEM showed scarring -- only "active inflammation,' yet, when she got inside, the surgeon found a ONE FOOT SECTION of intestine that was SO scarred, and SO diseased, it was hardened, "like a lead pipe!" And, PRAISE GOD, she removed it! Even more wonderful, she was able to do the surgery laproscopically! For those unfamiliar, laproscopy involves making several small incisions in the abdomen. In one incision, a tube is inserted, and air is pumped into the abdomen, blowing up the abdomen like a balloon! (This gives the surgeon room to work inside the abdominal cavity. The other incisions are used to insert the fiber optic cables that carry the light used to see inside, as well as the tiny camera that the doctor uses to see by, and all of the tiny tools -- the scapels and other cutting tools, the clamps, the tiny forceps, etc. Laproscopy is, of course, preferred, since the smaller incisions mean less trauma on the body, and a quicker recovery. The surgeon had warned us, last week -- and weeks earlier -- that she would try to do a laproscopic surgery, but that, if necessary, she would have to "open up" my wife with a more traditional incision. But, thanks be to GOD, she was able to do a laproscopic surgery! And, this is even more incredible when you consider that the surgeon was able to cut free a one foot section of intestine that was -- in her words -- "like a lead pipe," and she was then able to maneuver it and turn it around and then move a "one foot lead pipe" inside my wife's abdomen, avoiding all the internal organs, such that she could then extract it through one of these smaller incisions. To my way of thinking, THAT WAS THE HAND OF GOD. Can you imagine moving a "one foot lead pipe" around inside of your abdomen without damaging anything inside, and lining up that "one foot lead pipe" with a small incision in your side or belly for the purpose of extracting it, and having all of this done via a tiny camera and light at the ends of two fiber optic cables???? Yes, the surgeon was obviously skilled and talented, but I feel that this "feat" required the direct hand of God Almighty!

So, my wife is now in "recovery mode." She was walking some on Thursday, and they may try to get her to eat some solid food on Friday. We'll see.

Regardless, I can only see the direct hand of God in this surgery and the way it was accomplished, and I thank each and every one of you for lifting YOUR prayers with us in preparation for this surgery! THANK YOU SO MUCH! And, please, keep her recovery in prayer as well.

Thank you all SO MUCH!!!!!!!

:yeah: :hyper: :thumbup

I am trying to be hopeful, but it is difficult. I've had so much pain today from these two chronic medical conditions-- so many meds and one of them aggravates a different problem. Ugh. I go back to the dr. on Monday. Maybe she will be pleased with the slight bit of progress I've made. It is very debilitating. No physical church for me, and it disturbs me that because I cannot go, no one in my house goes. So--- I am hoping that maybe this year, one of the medical issues will be resolved, and I can find a church and go back to living in such a way that is good for my husband and my children. I know the Lord has used it to draw me closer to Him, in spite of all of the messes I have made in my life. There is nothing like living in perpetual clean-up mode. :rolleyes (Stress really makes the pain more intense.) I am also hopeful that I can get one of the biggest messes all cleaned up soon, and perhaps I'll better distinguish between what I really want and what my old nature is trying to do-- reassert control. I think I have just lately been doing better at that. Jesus has brought me to the point where I am reevaluating what is important and what isn't. I am surprised to see what things are merely bad, old habits that I really don't want to do anymore. I am praying for a major breakthrough. It's not that I expect I won't sin anymore, but I hope to be more in tune with God's ways and plans, and I hope that I will listen better.

I want to come back and update this blog occasionally. :writing: Perhaps I will see some progress.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS
19 Dec

The celebration of the birth of Christ will always be a hallmark for me each year. And I don’t mean the cards. Although that may be as close as some people get to showing emotion or any heart felt feeling towards their fellow man for the year to come. For others, at this stage of mans decline, this is simply a reason to party and get stuff they can use or exchange for what they really want. The latest gadget or high tech item that makes life so easy. Is high tech everything it’s cracked up to be?Is there an app that tells the story of how the Christ child was born on this very special night? Will it explain how the Angles sang and the shepherds watch was kept. And how the message of the King being born in a manger was cause for celebration? Maybe not.

In my heart I will celebrate what may well be our last Christmas here on earth. This is not known for sure but it is hard to ignore all the signs we see as the Lord our God allows man to take over his or her own destiny. I have made my choice and am happy in my life. Each one of us are allowed to make up our own minds on where we stand. With the Lord or against Him.

I will miss the bright lights and decorations. Always loved to decorate to the max inside and out. Just can’t do some things any longer on my own. I do so miss my family at this time. Know they will have a wonderful day and hope and pray it will become a wonderful memory.

So the most peaceful time on earth is about to take place. It happens every year. So as you gather with family or friends and celebrate not only the birth of the Christ child but also peace on earth and good will towards man, remember to thank the Lord for His Christmas gift to you. It’s a wonderful sight to see all the light displays and garlands, hear the people singing in the malls, walk into the kitchen where the cookies or other treats are fresh from the oven. Never forget the gift of salvation that was born this night that we celebrate.

God Bless you all and have a very Merry Christmas

Of COURSE it is Israel's fault. Not the rapists. After all, to anti-Semites, EVERYTHING bad is Israel's fault. The world is FULL of these bigots, pawns of Satan.

But Jesus Christ came to set men like free. Let me tell you, that even the most bigoted person in the world can be reached by the gospel of Jesus Christ; which is why it is so important for us to make sure it is proclaimed in truth and in power.

Last Friday night I watched a former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Johnny Lee Clary, who last spring was ordained as a minister in the mainly African-American Church of God in Christ also being ordained at Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, tears pouring down his face for the hatred he had espoused in his past and the harm he had done others. And afterward I watched him holding hands with African American Christians, praying with them, and hugging them as they shared the precious things of God with one another. Don't anyone EVER think that a man cannot be reached by God!!!

After being 20 years asleep at the wheel, I woke up to walk in the Light of the Lord Jesus only to discover I had married a non believer. I struggle to find a way to reach her and know it is up to God. He calls ,but, she is so set against God it only makes me sad . She is in great pain from a bad knee and still will not call out to the Lord. She is one that blames God for things instead of asking for help. Some people get it and some don't. Please pray for Pam . Her eyes need to be open before I can ask for a healing. Thanks YBIC Ray

What A Friend We Have in Jesus (Hymn)

What a Friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to
Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there
will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship
will be our sweet portion there.

Syria has what Russia has always wanted, even since its pre-Communist days of Tsarist expansion through imperial conquest - year-round warm water ports.

Syria has made available two such ports, Tartus and Latakia, to Russia for its surface and subsurface naval combatants since the 1970s. Now that Russia is expansionist once again those ports are absolutely essential and are the key cog in the military alliance between the two countries.

Intellectual affirmation of the Bible?

Intellectual affirmation of the Bible? Is that how most of us receive the Word of God? I wonder when it will go from our heads to our hearts?

...

Intellectual affirmation of the Bible? Is that how most of us receive the Word of God? I wonder when it will go from our heads to our hearts?

COL 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

So many know the doctrines, theologies and have much knowledge in many areas of the Bible like End Times Prophecy.

But does it really dwell in you, in your hearts not just rattle around in our heads and therefore never really becoming part of us.

If we truly understood God's Word in a way it touched our hearts we would weep every day for so many reasons and all to do with being sinful and resistant to God's ability to truly make us like Jesus.

Most of us have intellectual affirmation of God's Word but just knowing God's Word is not enough. We need to Live It constantly each day, willing for God's reproof and correction and discipline.

JAS 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does.

So are we merely gaining intellectual knowledge from God's Word when we read it or has it pierced our hearts and enabled us to truly "Do what it Says"?

I have a temper and I don't do well when it gets the better of me.

However I do not descend to calling others names or on purpose try to make others look foolish or just try to make out others are total dolts because they get angry.

I might speak out of turn, have foot in mouth desease from time to time, I may not make myself well understood. I don't apologise for my failings. God made me this way and I don't try to practice my failings on purpose to hurt others.

I don't think I am superior. I have a realistic view of myself.

I do not think others who do as I do, "lose it from time to time", are horrible people or not Saved Believers. We all have our moments in life.

I can't control how others perceive me. Your ability to cope with my failings are not my responsibility. I try and do most times suceed to keep my Slavic temper under control.

I'm sorry if anyone gets offended.

I've been very undisciplined lately. No excuse. I have allowed my temper to rule me instead of God. I have hurt some people along the way. My apologies.
