Needing some help

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I decided to post it in the Bible Study Q&A.

Recently I received an email from a friend who attends a church in CO. They were invited to have their kids attend something called "Fire Camp" (Hopefully the image successfully shows up in this post).

They were thinking about sending their kids to the camp because it came highly recommended from someone at their church and before they did, they asked me what I think of it. I have searched the internet for info on this camp but I am having no luck. Based on what the flyer shows, I cannot see this being a good thing but I don't know how to answer them. Or perhaps I am wrong in what I think? I am looking for some info and advice please. I personally see this camp as a bad thing and part of this crazy seeker madness but I am looking for some biblical responses please.

I believe the witness in your spirit and mine are aligned. Jesus first and last (the Alpha and the Omega)!

The flyer leaves me with a rather fleshy impression of the event. Jesus adores the little ones, and woe to those who would derail them.

This isn't showing any respect for the Lord. In fact, it smacks of the emergent occultist deceptions we've been warning about. I would strongly advise your friends to avoid this camp thing. I notice this is taking place just outside of Colorado Springs, so I will recommend Springs Church or Calvary Chapel North.

This is exactly what I thought too Meg. When I read the flyer, I was sickened. I posted this here because I wanted to be certain I wasn't missing something. Too many people love to throw scripture around and get it to fit into what they want to teach / believe rather than taking God's Word into context (that's called exegesis right?). I know this camp thing is wrong and I want to talk with them about it but I don't want to say "well I feel it's wrong". I am looking for a biblical response to give. It saddens me to see people fall into this kind of thing.

I know they (the camp) are using Acts 2 and Joel 2 as their basis for the camp and "training" children. But again, this is taking scripture out of context.

The other point of frustration is with myself in that I do not know how to respond to this. Lord please give me wisdom.

All of you are right on the scriptural and spiritual mark. I would keep my little ones as far away from this event as possible!

I pray our Heavenly Father give you the wisdom to know what to do and confirm it with His peace.
