Default Is the Bible in Heaven?

This question seems like a no-brainer, but it sets up my second question. First, though, is the Bible in Heaven....that is, when we are there, will we be able to read the stories, the Psalms, the teachings, etc. just as now. Not worried about the physical book or the version, just the content. So, two things....if not, how will I know about what's in the Bible, that is, when I see Jesus' hands, what's my response..."Wow, what happened to your hands?" If the Bible is not there, then how would I know? Seems silly, I know, but stay with me. It seems to me that the teachings have to stay with us including the teachings about sin.

Which brings up question 2. In Heaven, we know, we are changed, well, everything is changed. But the Bible teachings do not, so how do we relate to them....for example, if I am incorruptible, and I read about Sodom, what do I do with that? At that point, I'm perfect, so how will Sodom and adultery and murder and war affect me? Are they unknown to me? How can I be uncorrupted when I know sin, or know of it. If those memories are taken from me, then how can I make sense of the Biblical story? Or how about this? Is there romance in Heaven? We're all changed...o.k. Says in Matthew there is no marriage in Heaven....o.k. No procreation or need for....o.k. And the Bible is in Heaven....o.k. So, when I read Song of Solomon which is about courtship, and marriage and sex, what do I do with that? Those things are apparently not a part of Heaven, so are the stories and references missing from the Heavenly version? Or when I read...."....your breasts are like pomegranetes...", what meaning does that have for me? Relationships are different so are we sexless? Which would seem to negate all of Solomons book. And if we're not sexless, then so what? What's the point?
I hope this makes some sense...when I share this with others, I sometimes get blank looks. Hopefully someone with greater eloquence will understand where I'm going and can fill in some blanks. Thanks, RJ.

The Bible is all about Jesus. It is given that we might know Him. There we will be with Him. Therefore we do not need a written record. Faith shall become sight. Secondly, there is no sin in Heaven. No possibility of sin there. Our bodies are incorruptible and just like His. Therefore nothing outside of Christ and His righteousness will be of any issue.

Don't know if that helps, bro. But that is what sprang to mind as I read your post.

Since Mattfivefour didn't touch on it....NO we won't be 'genderless'...we will still be male or female...but we, who are raptured, or already in heaven, won't be given in marriage, the intimacy part of marriage (the bedroom part), will no longer apply. After the 1000 years, no more children will be born so the act that creates children will cease to exist.

Now before you go cry in your cheerios, we will still have intimate relationships (read:personal and loving) just without all the human, fallen, man(or woman) kind of compllications, and the SUPER DUPER BEST PART is that we get to share that intimacy WITH CHRIST TOO!! So you will still enjoy your relationship with your spouse, children, siblings, and parents,....BUT all those relationships will glorify God,, and reflect Jesus' love for us.

    Answer to Q2.

You relate to those sorts of passages the same way the Angels do currently who are in Heaven.

MK 12:24 Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26 Now about the dead rising--have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, `I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob' ? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++

Also you have to remember that what we have here in our Bible is only partial understanding. There is far more in Heaven to learn.

CO 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Male/Female basically only has relevance so far as procreation is concerned. Having known nothing else it's hard for us to conceive a state where that urge does not exist. As far as our resurrected bodies are concerned...

    1 John 3:2

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

But I agree that we will not lose who and what we are, as in our personality, in which gender plays a part in shaping. God gave a unique one to each of us for a reason and you will still be you (minus sin) regardless of what our physical form might be.

Jesus will be there, He is the living Word. No need for a paper Bible.

All of this is somewhat helpful, but it's still not the essence of what I'm after. Mark 13:31 says "...heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." So, "my words"....Jesus' words? the whole Bible (God's Word)?. If the entire Bible is in Heaven, in some form, then all of the concepts and issues, ideas, history, etc. must be included and must be understandable to us, which is why I used the Song of Solomon example. That particular book speaks largely of issues which seem to not be in Heaven, so it seems to me, either the book is not there or the elements spoken of in the book are in some some form that is understandable to us yet does not violate the, what seems to be the clear teaching of the text. I'm having difficulty reconciling the two. Maybe a more basic question is, what constitutes "my words" in the Mark passage. If "my words" refers to the entire biblical text, the the Song of Solomon must be there and then that books concepts...romance, etc....must also be there, in some form anyway. But if that's the case, then it seems to violate other texts, specifically the Matthew 'marrage' text. And on a different, but related issue, the matter of sexlessness. I have problems with things being done for no apparent reason...so if we maintain our sexuality in Heaven, then why? Very likely I'm searching for details when the Lord has chosen to not reveal them just yet, but I'll end with this. In Psalms, it is said, "I desire nothing in Heaven but you." If that is indeed the case, why bother with new heavens/earth at all? Why not just me (or you) and God? Apparently nothing else is needed yet God has provided more. So is the text to be taken literally? I do desire other things in Heaven....is that wrong? Well, I'm at a slow point at work, but it's picking back up so I'll close until later. Apologies if this is senseless or rambling. Thanks, RJ

Bro, is not Jesus the Word? (John 1:1) As such He comprises ALL of His words. After all, words—be they spoken or on paper—are nothing but concrete expressions of the essence of The Word. Therefore, as our new member Ducati said, since He is the Living Word, there is no need for paper words. Additionally, I might point out that when we are in Heaven we shall know even as God now knows us (1 Corinthians 13:12) ... that is to say, completely. Knowing that, why would we need paper words? We will know ALL of God's Word completely within ourselves.

This came to mind regarding Question 2

    Jesus is perfect in knowledge

Paul, inspired by the HS said:

    1Co 13:12
    (12) For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

My mind boggles at the thought of the degree of intimacy of the union between Bridegroom and the Bride!

Good to see you on RF!
Consider the words of Omar M. Ahmad, founder of CAIR: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant." ... "The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America , and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

1.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

There will be no need for the "actual" Bible to be present. We will know all we need to know ...as we are known.

The Bible we have here on earth was given unto man by inspiration by the Holy Spirit...there will be no need for it in Heaven.

    2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

^^^There will be no need for those things there, we need them here and now.

Ive always believed that God will and does have books in heaven , his records as for Jesus when he was here on earth when he said he did not know some things as for when , Ive always excepted the (he) himself limited by the limitations of our state (human) at that time was why he said he himself did not know

He God not limited later knew all things

you have the unknown mystery of the self imposed limitations of the incarnation involved with Jesus the son of man in the flesh (the word made flesh) .

    very thoughtful question actually R.J.

but I don't know how to answer

but I do believe God has books in heaven he records things in

    Ron John

Its in first Thessalonians "...our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance..." 1 Thessalonians 1:5

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:1-5

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

"...the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed...." John 3:19-20

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:105

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8

"...having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever...." 1 Peter 1:23

"For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle [a tiny mark in the original spelling of a word] will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled." Matthew 5:18

"And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail." Luke 16:17

"...we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God." 2 Corinthians 4:2

It very likely could be in the eternal living form however

God will Judge men on how they handled his Holy Word given us here on earth I believe so it makes sense the eternal word is just as God said it would be

I imagine it in heaven yes

Just not in the form we have here on earth entirely

    If that makes sense

    Isaiah says it real well
our ever living savior yes his word is eternal and infallible
so I believe it will definitely be in heaven yes

who do you reckon wrote the first book ever ?

    was it Enoch ?

and don't you imagine someone had to teach someone before Adam to write , if its true Enoch wrote the first book ever ?

I imagine God is the one who taught man to first write and record words

so is what God taught to man first a eternal part

    I think it must be

not in terms of pen and paper necessarily just ever bit as real

ETERNAL LOGOS very much will be in heaven yes

I believe there is great things to be discovered regarding (the Holy word) if we search it out in context of (ETERNAL LOGOS)

check out this written Holy word and take some special notes I decided to because its FAR TOO IMPORTANT RONJON TO DISMISS WHAT YOU ASKING ABOUT

""And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness
God was made manifest in the flesh 1 Timothy 3:16

The concept of matter and antimatter is exactly parallel to the spiritual concept we read in the word regarding the mystery of Godliness and its opposition the Mystery of iniquity actually
matter would have had to of won the fight against antimatter in real terms because that explains why the universe is filled with matter rather than antimatter
    right ?

the same way antimatter opposes and denies the physical reality of matter is exactly identical to how the anti-Christ
opposes and denies the physical reality of the Christ
the word of God has quite a lot to state on it actually Ron Jon

spiritually this is very important to understand
    why?
because any spirit that denies or opposes matter or physical manifestation of Jesus Christ is what is called anti-christ
just as antimatter denies the physical reality of matter

""Hereby know ye the spirit of God ""
every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God "
    and
Every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is Not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist
whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now is already in the world 1 John 4:2-3
