    Default Why?

Why is it that God never seems to answer my prayers? Why is it that He always answers my mom's or other people's? The only way He answers my prayers is either deliver people from temptation or take them Home to be with Him whenever I pray for people. But in all honesty, it's probably because worthier people than I have been praying along the same lines. Honestly, nothing seems to happen. I pray for my unsaved friends. Nothing happens. I have never seen one person saved, while there are others who see literally hundreds saved in the course of their earthly life. WHY does it take Him so long to even answer prayers for those that are unsaved when I do pray for them?

Well, just minutes after I posted this, I logged onto another Christian forum and this was one of the first posts I found:

You'll never know how God will use you if you just remain faithful to Him.

OH KBR you are God's great care never feel at the mercy of unseen forces . I thank God daily for all the darts of evil and unseen things that God turns from me and then I just drop my burdens trusting his tenderness and understanding will heal my scars .

    KBR
In spite of your longing and struggle you will gain a divine patience surely and truly this is so
Jesus shares in your heartaches and troubles of struggle as his friend you then must share in his patience in longing and waiting when the journey seems to long and share his strength and know you are beloved in all shared graces bestowed and given unto you by a Loving Gracious Jesus cause Jesus says it so KBR keeping you in prayer

Its not only your work of heartfelt Its His and yet you must leave it with him trusting he knows the time place and all else for it to be brought about we often don't remember to leave it with him trustingly enough when its a part of our heart Jesus knows it

king'sbloomingrose - As you remain faithful, God will use you were you are planted. You have no idea how many seeds you have planted for the Kingdom of God

God's timing is not always our timing and His ways are far greater than ours. God does hear the cry/prayer of your heart and you can be assured that He is at work

"Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard” (Daniel 10:12)

Remember that the enemy of our soul is always looking for ways in which to discourage us.

Everything posted in this thread is solid advice, little sister. My wife used to say the same thing as you. She earnestly prayed for me for more than 30 years with tears. She fasted, she cried, she did everything she knew how to do and thought that it was all in vain.

    Clearly it wasn't.

Don't serve God to see results. Serve God to serve God. He will bring the results in His time and in His way. Re-read the past few days of Chambers. If you read carefully you will see that he is talking about this very thing— the motive with which we serve Jesus.

I love this thread, absolutely loved that video, and love the replies offered so far. Here are some more thoughts...

For the first 5 years I was a Christian, I felt useless. It got so bad that I asked a friend "God takes His time seriously, doesn't He? He's worked so hard on me, and I haven't done a thing for Him..." It was driving me crazy. He did answer my prayers about myself and His Word, but near as I could tell, I wasn't doing a thing for Him. Then in 2008, a month or so before my 5th anniversary as a Christian, I got a computer for the first time in several years. I joined my first Christian forum, and began to serve the Lord. I was humbled and amazed...

Beyond that, a few really decent Christians had witnessed to me over the course of my lifetime. A few of them got completely blown off. At least one dear man, Mike Pringle, tried so hard to bring my boyfriend and I to Christ, with no evident success... But I never forgot him nor his words either.

Don't lose heart, dear sister. Like that man in Sydney, you won't know exactly how well you did until we all get Home. I think you'll be surprised, and will likely enjoy some surprises in this life as well. Jesus Christ is much kinder and more generous than many of us really guess at. His sense of time is very different than ours though!

been there sister. I have not seen anyone I've been praying for saved. But I know God has done a dramatic work in me. It's so amazing when you pray for others with tears and fervency and instead of seeing changes in them there's changes in you.

I do know my prayer life has changed quite a bit over the past year in that I leave it with him much more than I used to and pray knowing he has answered.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time."-Ecc.3:11

One of the problems I've seen myself doing is praying in a certain way and waiting to see it all play out the way I figured it to go. NO. God doesn't do things our way and we will do well to stop trying to trace his paths-Romans 11:33.

It's "THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN"-not yelling at you dear one.

I could have started this thread. I have been in the same boat all my life. I think I could count the times I've seen answered prayer on one hand. Years ago I pretty much gave up on asking for anything. Now my prayers are mostly, "Thank You for this and thank You for that". Since I've been seeing that we are in the end times I have been praying for friends and family but still have not seen any prayer answered. To get myself past not having prayers answered I finally decided that having prayers answered is one of the gifts you receive from the Holy Spirit and I just did not get that one. I did get a couple of cool gifts though. The gift of being anal retentive is sweet!
If you were charged with the crime of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

    You said it right sis....SEEMS.....
The Lord ALWAYS ANSWER PRAYER(s)....Do not get discouraged....
He knows better...It would be inconsistent with His holiness and integrity not to..He never breaks His word,He is faithful....
we have to ask for grace to be able to wait until His answer(s) is manifested and for sure we will rejoice then...BUT we can rejoice NOW in faith trusting HIS WISDOM....
The foundation lies in the fact that The Lord is Perfect and His ways are Perfect too and we have to remember ourselves that at the right hand of The Father ,Jesus is the High Priest interceding on our behalf..and talking about worthiness HE IS WORTHY...so do not look at other people worthier than you because they are not...Jesus makes ALL believers in HIM worthy because of HIS BLOOD....ok?
We also are blessed that The Holy Spirit is with us as intercessor and while WE FIGHT the spiritual battle we better rely on heavenly resources and WAIT and while we wait let's sing PRAISES to our great GOD...because HE NEVER FAILS and knows everything....and He LOVES YOU...

Let's not forget that while we are down here we are surrounded by enemies....in the flesh and in the spirit...but GREATER is the ONE in us that the one in the world.....
So go on...pray without ceasing and praise HIM...

    Love in Jesus
