formerly Ive thought along those same lines ,but I am not certain atall that is accurate
    why ?
Revelations 1 states it to plainly The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto him ........(((the him being John))) the revelation given is of Jesus Christ NOT John John was just the instrument used to write the account
I can not find anywhere in scripture where angels are described in the manner it is written in Revelations 10 so to merely interpret it as just a angel totally dismisses the obvious similarity of the apparition (vision) in verses 5 and 6 of the book of Daniel and in Revelations 1:13 where verse 16 suggest that it was Immanuel himself it states in 13 ... and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the son of man and we know Jesus Christ is head of the church the actual centerpiece
the description clothed with a cloud and a rainbow upon his head and his face as if it were the sun indicates Jesus is the one who has the little book and is worthy to open it . Some things not even angels know and as we read John was not to relate what was given (seven thunders) . It is however odd that verse 5 states Angel saw when in verse 1 to 5 describes Jesus and not a angel

the angel is not descending blowing a trumpet in 10 ,he is clothed described with greater power and authority than a angel and opening a little book from what I'm reading

    what acceptedinthebeloved formerly pointed to

    ok

This position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth. He has a ‘little book’ and it is open.

Now what little book do we know that was closed? Why??? the book of Daniel’s prophecies; he was told, “seal the book” until “the time of the end”.

    The ‘end’ of what?
    prophetic time
    Jesus fulfills it
lion of Judah roars as a lion vs 3
on into 11 it gets real descriptive which leads me to believe the sought after finding of the ark of the covenant is in heaven (was taken )
Ark of Covenant is not actually
    lost at all .
chapter 11 is of the final two witnesses last parts of the tribulations
makes sense re-reading mystery of God should be finished and what he declared to his servants the prophets in 7-8 in 10
I see where not all the terms stated Angel in chapter 10 could be just a Angel and it mystifies me why the distinction is missed

I do however understand a tremendous deal more on times time and a half which never before could make sense of at all . God apparently has assighned specifics to specific time and how they end reaffirming Alpha and Omega and him keeping a specific order which is so
only word I can use is (((PERFECT)))
It lays it out in a perfect order yet in a not so common termed way to where I supose in a sense we can only know that Jesus Christ does things perfect in totality concerning the whole
whether the church , Israel and the 144,ooo . each one is so distinct .
GOOD STUDY IVE LEARNED QUITE A LOT MORE THAN USUAL .
still wish I knowed more about though
a strange syndrome that plagues me sometimes ((LOL)) ever get you like that ?

getting back to the scroll part
God's Holy word in his books recorded and the perfect order of how he deals and meets each event occuring with the Gentile (church) then Israel and the 144 . It does reveal the close of the church age and then how God deals with Israel and what happens to Israel . I have never been convinced about a whole lot ,yet oddly enough I believe the (covenant) what we say is the Ark of the covenant ... That it was never lost . God has it , thats where it is I believe . It is in God's possession and God carries out actually completes and also confirms scripture ours and the Jews old and new and keeps a perfected order a perfect running order of opening and closing . Its to where we in the temporal realm of the (physical) can not grasp wholly about times and time and half . I know how come it is at least why I never could make formerly distinct but important understanding . God's order is perfect , man's teachings is not . The best way to grasp is let the Holy Spirit do the interpreting
sometimes mysteries are not suposed to be totally revealed because not everything is predetermined even though all is foreknown ,which is another journey all together .

Mankind obviously plays a role in resolving the age old angelic conflict

the greater question I am thinking on is that God did make a totally perfect plan even if we don't realize that mercy comes before judgment and yet mercy void of judgment is worthless , and the church and Israel have a lot in common in some ways yet are not separated spiritually at all .
God is totally prepared and planned for executing perfect justice
It will either be a mercy seat or a judgment seat.
God will bring both on the scene before us .
finally satans doubt and unbelief will get its just reward

Jesus Christ full fills fully and totally the law and phrophecy I believe it totally
Jesus reserves for himself a clear answer, as he did in respect to the end of times, also in the Mount of Olives in Mat.24:3-4. About the end of times, Jesus answered them with the Sermon of the End of Times, in chapters 24 and 25 of Matthew.

Here, he answers them: "It is not for you to know the time and the steps which the Father has fixed by his own authority" (Act.1:7)… but immediately, in the nest verse, he told them very clearly their role and responsibility in this Kingdom

They will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses to the end of the earth… and, certainly, in Pentecost the disciples understood the Kingdom Jesus was talking about, and they started to work on it.

wow what a study . I guess that is surely why the book was named Revelations

well it has completely convinced me of a few things I never formerly grasp a hold of

God's word is indestructible and infallible showing it is sovereign and perfect even to the end of the time whether it be by Rapture or by fulfilling of other Judgments that must occur
we can know for certain what Jesus said and prayed it will be fully filled
his will will be done despite the fact satan thinks it wont

we can rejoice exceedingly that Jesus is our perfect plan
he does it all folks and it is complete and perfect
    and nothings lost
especially the keeping of his covenant
    He has surely kept it
forever and ever it is eternal
    just and perfect order
even with all the seeming disorder satan has made of things
God's perfect word is perfect assurance we can know know for sure for certain
and have the greatest future hope ever given

the first will be last even Jesus said it
Israel was first yet goes last
but go they will just as we will

Post 2 (from me) and post 3 (from Chris) somehow did not form part of this thread due to a moderation error that kept them hidden. They have now been revealed and people may want to read them before posting.

    me to Robert

The angel part gets me totally because thunder is portrayed as the voice of the Lord seven times in Psalm 29:3-9. the description part is very intriguing Brother Matt may be very right it may be a red herring but worth studying for sure

I don't see the rapture of the church in Revelation 10 but I do see it with the 144,000 . where I do see the rapture of the church is way earlier than 10 in part of 3 and 4 in the beginning chapters of Revelation . what interests me the most is how each event is distinct from other events

Ive always been told however that the manchild is interpreted as Jesus
    not Israel or the 144,000

what Brother Matt and Chris gives is excellent
regarding the rapture of the church

I guess my main question now is there a rapture of the 144,ooo
God dealing with Israel after the rapture of the church ?

There is still some missing links I find one being the angel Michael is very descriptive just not the same as in chapter 10 .

the things Chris pointed out on the trumps
    excellent

The angel in 10, swears by the One that is the creator of heaven and earth. Question, Who created the heaven and the earth?

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    And also

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus the Christ created all things and this angel in Revelation 10:1 is giving honor to Him in Revelation 10:5 and 6. There is no escaping the truth of the scriptures. the oath and the proclamation helps to know
I see why brother Matt says its a red herring . The odd part is clouds and rainbows always is about Jesus yet reading on we see what is being done
and the Angel in 10 is clearly swears a oath by the One that is the creator of heaven and earthand makes a proclamation .
God Bless you real big brother Matt I see what your pointing out
and in spite of the way it desribes Angels are Angels and Jesus is Jesus
