I think you have badly confused the suposable contradiction of Paul and Jameshird, the Catholic Church does NOT teach that a person is saved by works; it teaches (quoting scripture) that faith without works is dead. Fourth, Paul was referring to the "works of the law," such as circumcision, and other ritual observances; notice James is talking about works defined in terms of obedience to the Commandments and holy conduct. Fifth, Martin Luther himself admitted that he inserted the German word "allein" (alone) in Paul's statement that the just man is saved by faith. There is only contradiction between Paul and James if a person inserts the word "alone" into Paul's statement, which is not scriptural.
If the works of man is not focused solely on the perfect gift ""Jesus Christ"" and the Perfect sacrifice which was ""Jesus Christ""crucified then I suppose the keeping of commandments (law) which was imposable for man . Then it never would have been necessary for the ordinances to be nailed to a cross .A perfect work done (alone) by the "perfect gift" Jesus Christ and the "perfect sacrafice ""Jesus Christ "" the word is not confounded neither does it contradict itself between James and Paul
I wager those men you namedis responsable for that

and leave the religious mussing interpretations of man to man . The Holy spirit never ms-interprets Gods word
