Hey guys!
I was wondering what are your views on the so called non-essentials? Why do people say that?
Now this is my view, there are non-essential things that aren't necessary for salvation out-right, but once you are saved and read the Bible I believe it's crystal clear on it's message and doctrine and no one really needs all these so called creeds, just follow the bible, as scripture interprets scripture.
So in the bible, which is right and truth it's self, are all the essential doctrines, and there really is no such thing as non-essential (unless talking about salvation).
I hope it makes sense.
But anyway, like some examples would like like women in ministry/as preachers, or the virgin birth, etc. etc.
I was reading on where I go to youth group, they have a pretty good mission statement and they said some non-essentials are these and we don't want a breaking away and so on. But they listed women in ministry. Now it would be hard but if a woman became a pastor/preacher there other than for children's ministry and woman's ministry, I would leave. Because they aren't following biblical authority. Now it hasn't happened nor do I expect it ever to with the elders there. But it's why i brought it up, if a church does that and biblical authority isn't followed, then things will creep in and flood the congregation.
Some of us have somewhat trivial differences, and what about those also not just the ones on biblical authority?
