Default Are these amounts of gold, silver, etc. right?

I'm reading in 1 Chronicles 29:4-5 and I am in awe of the amount of material that was used in the temple. This is David passing to Solomon the requirements for the building of the temple. The margin notes in my Bible (NIV) say that 1 talent was about 75 pounds and that the gold given was 3,000 talents....plus 7,000 talents of silver. And that's just what David contributed! The other leaders gave 5,000 more talents of gold, 10,000 of silver, 18,000 of bronze and 100,000 talents of iron!! Not to mention the various precious stones. These amounts are just staggering to me. We are talking tons, TONS of gold. No wonder the Romans tore the place apart. But my question is.....are these amounts correct? And, if so, how was it all used....I mean, was the temple solid gold? I guess it puts in perspective the disciples marvellling at the size and magnitude of the temple, but still, I just find the amounts.....incredible.

May require further studying but Nelsons said the carved doors and walls were overlaid with gold( I Kings 6: 20-22)

Shishak, King of Egypt took away the temple's treasure (I Kings 14)
Asa used the temple treasures to buy an ally (I Kings 15, 2 Kings: 16:8)
King Nebuchadneezer Babylon looted and destroyed the temple (2 King 25:9, 13,17) 586 BC

Might add that the Arc of the Covenent disappeared and was never found

    Notes say:

    Gold 3.6 million oz
    Silver 8.4 million oz

    verse 4: 100 metric tons
    p-4 about 240 metric tons

verse 7: 5,000 talents 6 million oz or 170 metric tons

etc...will look up more if you want
