I need Grace and Mercy!! Not for the approval of Sin but for the removal of Sin (Roman 6:14). Grace is the Power of God to overcome the dominion of Sin in our life and is provided to us through Faith in what Jesus did on the Cross. “If Righteousness come by the Law then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21). How does Righteousness “come”? Through Faith in the Cross! (Romans 4:5) How is Righteousness walked out in our life? Through Faith in the Cross (Colossians 2:6). For a “Believer” to say they need the Law at any time for any reason they are actually reverting back to a position of “lawlessness” and placing themselves again in the bracket of the “disobedient and ungodly” (1 Timothy 1:9), and have positioned themselves outside the benefits of Grace (Romans 7:9). Its not the absence of Law that causes lawlessness but the absence of the Power of Grace working in our life that only comes through faith in the Cross (Romans 6:15).
