Gleanings and Wisdom and Instruction from the Word of God.........
Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Prior to my getting saved in 1983, I had one of the most filthy mouths of anyone I knew. My heart was filthy and full of sin and I fit in perfectly in the world. Upon my accepting Jesus as my LORD and Saviour and giving my life over to Him, He began a good work in me and one of the first things He did was clean out my heart so that filth no longer came forth from my mouth.
I am not perfect, but being perfected through His Word, and there are times when I do let slip a word but immediately I am convicted and ask His forgiveness.
I hear audibly from "Christians" and see written/typed on forums and FB things by "Christians" that should never come forth from their mouth/heart.
If the Holy Spirit indwells us (God in the spirit living in us) then should we not be more careful of what is in our hearts and what comes out of our mouths.
Everyday I post Scriptures to my FB status, hoping that my unsaved friends and family will read them and the Holy Spirit will convict them and bring them to repentance. The Scriptures I post are also for me. To remind me and teach me of how I am to present myself to those who are lost and are watching me every day. Many of my sisters and brothers post Scriptures also and believe me they often bring conviction on me about something in my life that is not pleasing to our LORD.
Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
Psa 139:24 And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting
May Psalm 139: 23 and 24 be my prayer unto You our LORD.
Titus 2: 1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
