    Default Whose counsel?

This was sent to me by a Christian sister. I found it challenging, so I wanted to share it.

    Whose Counsel?

Blessed is the man that WALKS NOT IN THE COUNSEL OF THE UNGODLY, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. —Psalm 1:1

So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before You. Nevertheless I am continually with You: You have held me by my right hand. You shall GUIDE ME WITH YOUR COUNSEL, and afterward receive me to glory. —Psalm 73:22-24

So walking in the counsel of the ungodly VS the Lord guiding me with His counsel !

WE MUST REPENT FROM OUR WICKED WAYS! Are you LETTING the LORD guide you with His counsel? Or are you preferring the counsel of the ungodly?

The word for 'ungodly' in the Strong’s Concordance is "wicked", "criminal", "guilty one", "one guilty of crime"; "wicked" (hostile to God); "wicked", "guilty of sin" (against God or man)

The word for ‘scorn’ in the Strong’s Concordance is "talk arrogantly", "deride", "mock", "laugh at".

I heard a fellow Christian justifying his taking the Lord’s Name in vain by saying that he is only human. Truly humans are naturally ungodly, wicked, criminals, guilty of sin, hostile to God, But is it this that the LORD has called us to? Surely NO. Truly

God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a CLEAN HEART. —Psalm 73:1

LORD, cleanse our hearts by THE BLOOD OF THE HOLY LAMB!

We must not take the LORD lightly. It is a serious matter. We often think that ‘wicked’ refers only to what are truly ugly, dirty sins in our minds… After all you may not take drugs, drink alcohol, look at porn etc. But how HIGH are your thoughts about GOD? Is THE LORD EXALTED in your mind and heart? Or are earthly, carnal, ungodly things exalted in your heart and mind above the Lord?

The closer we get to our HOLY LORD, the more He exposes our sins, which although we may think are not big, compared to HIS HOLINESS, they are HUGE, and sin offends HIS PURE EYES! (Habakkuk 1:13)

SEARCH OUR HEARTS, LORD! CONVICT US! WE MUST TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS OF SELF-CENTEREDNESS AND INSTEAD HUNGER AND THIRST THAT CHRIST BE OUR CENTER! OUR ALL!

Are we letting THE BLOOD OF JESUS cleanse us from sin, continually?

    Can Christian be wicked? Surely:

If My people, which are called by MY Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, And seek My face, and turn from THEIR WICKED WAYS; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. —2 Chronicles 7:14

So what do you seek? Whom do you seek? Do you seek God’s HOLY Face?

The LORD reigns; let the people tremble —Psalm 99:1

Do we tremble at His presence? Do we sense His presence at all?

HOLY AND REVEREND IS HIS NAME! —Psalm 111:9

TAKE US INTO THE HOLY OF HOLIES, LORD! TAKE US BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF THE HOLY LAMB!

So whose counsel are you going after? The counsel of the ungodly? Or the Lord’s?

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. —Joshua 24:15

"Some may be unwilling to accept the teachings of holiness... 'Can two walk together except they be agreed?' (Amos 3:3). If you expect to walk with God, and to have power in your life to work the works of God, IT IS TIME TO AGREE WITH GOD. When you fully agree with God, this will put you in disagreement with some others." —A. A. Allen
-------"You are not your own; you are bought with a price." —1 Corinthians 6:19b-20a

Thank you for sharing that. I am praying that those whom God leads to read this will heed what it says and go to God's Word for His Counsel. Man's counsel is like dross, words with no meaning or power except to exhalt themselves and others. God's Counsel is to edify His Holy Name, teaching us what is good and true.

My heart is hurting for those who do not seek the Wisdom in God's Counsel.

Psa 118:8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Titus 2: 1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Amen matt; Job 12:13 "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His." It is so good to see brothers and sisters really studying. Chewing on God's word breaking out the concordance and dictionary to get the meaning of words because they really desire to please the Lord.proverbs 8:14 "Counsel and sound judgment are mine;"

And might I add, We learn BEST by following a Person and Jesus is our Counselor. We know that we can study God's word all we want and never know true counseling if we don't Have the Counselor-the Holy Spirit living within us. The Devil knows the Bible and I'm sure He has read it many of times throughout the 1000's of years.

Acts 20:25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. 26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

    King James Bible

Some churches have a complete reading of the Bible by its members from Genesis to maps once a year, working in shifts until done, a lot at the beginning of the year as a belief that the church will be under the whole counsel of GOD. I can neither agree or disagree with this practice but do suggest reading the whole Bible and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Amazingly enough, every time you read the Bible you will learn something you did not realize before as your eyes are opened by the Holy Spirit.

It is also quoted in the scriptures that knowledge is by hearing, and knowledge being the word of GOD. I do believe that the spoken word of GOD is powerful.
