Ok this is for any lurkers that like Mark Driscoll. I'm so tired of people following him like he's such an amazing teacher when he has so much flawed theology. He's not controversial or blunt, he's wrong.

you arent alone when it comes to the cultish like followers of Driscoll and Andy Stanley and Bill Hybles and Rick Warren


it breaks my heart when I hear followers of theirs who seem to worship them more than JESUS

and act like Driscoll and Andy Stanley and Bill Hybles and Rick Warren are infalliable. nobody except JESUS is perfect.

we should be as christians looking towards JESUS and not towards dubious pastors like Driscoll and Hybels and Warren and Stanley

What got me going is a friend asked what church to go to in Seattle and someone said Mars Hill and started raving about how good Driscoll is. I stepped up and mentioned some of his horrible theology and cited it. Like how I'm not really a man because I stay at home with the kids and that makes me unGodly. This other person just said "I don't think he has unsound theology, he's still a good teacher, yada yada." It just irritated me because I cited numerous things that he's said that aren't scriptural. I know he's human, but twisting the word of God is not ok with me.

No kidding whenever you need to say OK he is good on personal atonement, virgin birth etc, but avoid his neo calvinism, eschatology, kingdom building, contextualization, contmeplative.............

How many caveats do we need until we just look elsewhere?

Every now and then there is a phrase that he says is good. However, yes, unfortunately, he should be banned from the pulpit. I am surprised the elders have not removed him from his church.
