Paula White and So-Called Rabbi Messer

Paula White has emphatically denied she is following Eddie Long’s lead and being crowned queen, but she has, in the past, had the fake rabbi, Ralph Messer (who performed Long’s coronation), on her show.

Listen to Messer discuss crisis, ovulation, passover, and many other absurd things on White’s television show. Of special note is the torah scroll that is propped next to them on the set.

I found this quote from Paula White’s attorney in the Florida Courier:

“There is not a single shred of truth in it, and we cannot fathom where such ridiculous fantasy may have come from. Pastor White has no ties or affiliation with Mr. Messer. She does not endorse him in any way, and she would never consider participating in any so-called coronation under any circumstances, whatsoever,” Beirute said in an email to Florida Courier Publisher Charles W. Cherry II.”



She doesn’t endorse him? Perhaps White’s attorney may need to watch this video! Inviting someone on your show and giving them the platform to teach authoritatively (and I use that term loosely) the Torah is, to put it bluntly, an endorsement!





White may be trying to distance herself from Messer, but this video shows she has had more than just a passing conversation with the man in the past.






Let this be a word of caution. Endorsing people today could come back to bite you tomorrow.

Paula White Wrapped in a Torah Scroll?

Paula White’s attorney may categorically and emphatically deny that she was ever crowned queen by Ralph Messer, and he may claim she isn’t affiliated with him in any way…but that doesn’t mean he didn’t wrap her in one of his Torah scrolls.

What do you think…does this look like Paula White?









And here’s something else even curiouser (if that’s a word)…

There is a video circulating the blogosphere that allegedly shows Paula White being wrapped in Messer’s Torah Scroll. I wish you could watch it, but you can’t. Paula White’s ministry is scouring the Internet and squashing all the videos claiming copyright infringement. Hmmmmmm…….copyright infringement. Don’t you just love their timing?

Isn’t it funny that White’s ministry waits until now to object to the video??? They didn’t object to the video before people started posting it in response to the claim that White was wrapped in Messer’s Torah scroll.

Here is the video evidence, and keep in mind, Paula White claims she is not affiliated with, nor does she endorse Ralph Messer. Now, she wasn’t crowned queen in this video, mind you, but she is a little more familiar with Ralph Messer than her public statement claims.

I was listening to two godly Messianic rabbis in Michigan here yesterday and they were stating quite plainly that Messer is NOT a true rabbi and they are not even sure he is truly a Christian. They brought out his errors by using scripture (in context) against which to measure them. From what I have heard, I would have to agree that Messer is neither. He appears to be a wolf in sheep's clothing, making merchandise of the sheep with his not-so-subtle legalism under the guise of true Messianic worship. Paul would have made mince meat of him in debate.

2423 112Why did people applaud Bishop Long’s bizarre “coronation” in Atlanta?

Question of the week: What should you do when a megachurch pastor is accused of serious financial and/or sexual misconduct?

A. Ask the pastor to step down so he or she can receive ministry, and then conduct a thorough investigation.

B. Flatly deny all allegations and wait until the storm blows over.

C. Use church funds to pay off the people who made the sex abuse accusations.

D. Ask a guest preacher to call the pastor to the stage, wrap him in a 312-year-old Torah scroll and ask an “expert” in Old Testament language to declare him a “king” so he can be exonerated of all wrongdoing.

“True restoration requires a lengthy process of repentance, restitution and inner healing. If we practiced biblical restoration on a wide scale, the cancer of immorality that is eating the church alive today would go into remission.”

Until Jan. 29, when Bishop Eddie Long of Atlanta was coronated on the stage of New Birth Baptist Church in front of thousands of his congregants, I would never have dreamed of option D in the list above.


I thought I had seen it all. Yet the odd ritual (I hesitate to call it a “Jewish ceremony”) performed by Denver minister Ralph Messer is now officially the most bizarre religious video ever posted on YouTube.

After the 14-minute video clip went viral, it pretty much angered everyone—the Jewish community, especially, but also many Christians who don’t believe it is kosher to put a pastor in a chair and parade him on a stage like he is The Most Highfallutin III.




When Long and Messer realized the video had sparked an embarrassing controversy, Long apologized for it while Messer downplayed the ceremony as a sincere attempt to “honor” the embattled bishop.



Watching recent events at New Birth play out in the media is like viewing a train wreck in slow motion. I hurt for the innocent people trapped in this mangled mess—people who deserve better leadership than this.


Here are three lessons I hope we learn from it:


1. We must guard our pulpits. The apostle Paul warned that the church would be preyed upon by imposters, liars, false teachers and greedy opportunists.

He also told Timothy to be on the lookout for men who focus their teaching on “speculation” and ear-tickling doctrines.

“For some men,” he said in 1 Timothy 1:6-7, “have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are talking about or the matters about which they make confident assertions. (NASB)”


For some reason, many charismatics today are wowed if a Bible teacher pulls out a Jewish prayer shawl, wears a yarmulke, recites a Bible verse in Hebrew or claims to know the numerical value of an Old Testament word.

He gets extra points if he understands biblical feasts (or can show you how to obtain financial blessings through a “Day of Atonement Offering”).

I believe there is certainly value in understanding the Hebrew roots of Christianity. But if we aren’t careful this can also become idolatry—or an opportunity for charlatans who have lots of “Jewish” products to sell.


Note: If someone’s teaching does not point his hearers 100 percent to Jesus, don’t buy it.




2. We must raise the standard of holiness. When a church leader falls into serious sin or scandal, those around him should—if they truly love him—cover and rehabilitate him. But covering a leader who has sinned should not involve cover-up. True restoration requires a lengthy process of repentance, restitution and inner healing.

3. We must reclaim biblical discernment. What appalled me most when I watched the Eddie Long coronation video was the fact that people in the audience applauded this blasphemous spectacle.

It is bad enough that a leader allowed it to take place on his platform; it is even worse that thousands of people watched without flinching, and went home thinking their pastor was now a king in God’s eyes. Lord have mercy.



The people should have immediately fallen to their knees and begun praying against deception—or run out the doors in disgust.

With so little discernment among “Spirit-filled” believers today, it’s not hard to imagine that an anti-Christ figure could boldly march right into a church, climb in a leather chair and be anointed as a king.

Oh wait … I think that has already happened.

T.D. JAKES HAS TIES TO “RABBI” RALPH MESSER

Apprising Ministries first mentioned someone named “Rabbi” Ralph Messer in the AM article Word Faith Prosperity Preacher Eddie Long Crowned King.

There you find out that Long, a good friend of fellow Word Faith prosperity preacher T.D. Jakes, was crowned King by Messer in an elaborate ceremony.

A bit later we would also see that King Eddie Long Apologizes For Messer Ceremony.

Well, it seems that when the light is shown on these kinds of ridiculous and blasphemous teachings the WF spiritual snake oil salesmen suddenly scurry away trying to hide them. I absolutely do fully expect that to be the case with T.D. Jakes here and Ralph Messer.

After-all, Jakes’ disciple pastrix Paula White is already throwing her “dear friend” Messer under the bus as you’ll find out in Paula White Less Than Truthful Regarding “Rabbi” Ralph Messer. Why White’s dropping him faster than Wes Welker did that Tom Brady pass in the Super Bowl.

Yesterday I told you that, in what almost seems to be a developing obssession to mainstream T.D. Jakes, former Gospel Coalition Council member James MacDonald is making the rounds now informing us that in private convos they’re having Jakes is backing away from Word Faith prosperity preaching.

Really; so, I wonder how we are to explain this: T.D. Jakes May 2012 Leadership Conference To Feature Joel Osteen. Or Jakes having ties to the quasi-Messianic Messer, who himself preaches his take on the prosperity non-gospel. Below is Messer at the Word of Faith International Christian Center in Detroit.

I do admire the Lord’s use of irony. In this clip, which comes right from his own Torah.tv You Tube account, you’ll hear Messer with the usual confusion of Law and Gospel in order to set up the WF quid pro quo prosperity message. His shtick is adding a Jewish twist to WF blab it, grab it:





Not only is this “inter-faith” STBM itself a rather confusing mishmash of spiritual teachings, but upon further research, we discover that Messer himself is a modalist who specifically rejects the cardinal Christian doctrine of the HolyTrinity. More on that another time.

For now, I’ll leave you this time with the below appearance by Messer on God’s Learning Channel. Note the following information was posted at Messer’s You Tube channel. At the very least, he approved it. It’s been there for two years now; plenty of time to remove it had Messer not wanted to have us aware of this:



Any reasonable doubt that Ralph Messer is in the TBN stable of Word Faith prosperity preachers is done away with as we note below that he wanted to make sure we knew who he and his STBM “has ties” with.

Any of us who know the players in the Word Faith movement can tell you these three are WF royalty:





Interesting that, yet again, T.D. Jakes is listed with ties to Word Faith prosperity preachers. This is another reason why Jakes has been labeled as a prosperity preacher; the evidence is clear. And please keep in mind here that it’s the Lord Who asks the following rhetorical question, not me:

“Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?” (Amos 3:3)
