THE ELEPHANT ROOM, T.D. JAKES & CINDY TRIMM
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Nov 18, 2011 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features
Among the issues Apprising Ministries covers is how even the heretical Word Faith movement continues heading toward acceptance within the mainstream of evangelicalism during this nauseating New Downgrade No-Controversy.
You just can’t make this stuff up. Think about it; who would have ever thought that Oneness Pentecostal heretic T.D. Jakes—a superstar in the corrupt camp of Word Faith prosperity preachers—would be mainstream.
However, you can see for yourself e.g. in Oneness Pentecostal T.D. Jakes Goes Mainstream Evangelical or Steven Furtick Bringin’ On Word Faith And The Pastrixes or James MacDonald, T.D. Jakes, And Postmodern Obfuscation.
Now keep in mind that this last article concerns Jakes’ invitation to the Elephant Room. In addition, also remember that MacDonald is associated with the Young, Restless, and Reformed crowd, as well as being a Gospel Coalition Council member who is already arguing in favor of Jakes as a Christian brother:
I do not require T.D. Jakes or anyone else to define the details of Trinitarianism the way that I might. His website states clearly that he believes God has existed eternally in three manifestations. I am looking forward to hearing him explain what he means by that.
I am also excited to hear him state his views on money, which may be closer to Scripture than the monasticism currently touring reformed world. I believe T.D. Jakes shows immense humility by being willing to step outside his own circles to interact with brothers in Christ who may see certain things differently.
Getting brothers together who believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone but normally don’t interact, is what the Elephant Room is all about.

Here we can clearly see that even some in Reformed circles are embracing T.D. Jakes among “brothers in Christ.” Critics often accuse men like me in online apologetics and discernment ministry of using “guilt-by-association” tactics. Well, what I’ve just shown you above from James MacDonald is guilt-by-endorsement.
There’s no way around it; of course, for too many leaders within squishy evanjellyfish, it’s just easier to ignore it. Note MacDonald even takes a shot at the Reformed camp as he offers that Jakes’ teachings regarding money “may be closer to Scripture than the monasticism currently touring reformed world.” Seriously?
Well, you can’t embrace T.D. Jakes apart from the Word Faith movement’s prosperity gospel ala that haven of heretics Trinity Blasphemy Broadcasting Network; for this is where he draws his “views on money.” Jakes often shills for TBN during their yearly fleece-the-flock-a-thons. Jakes’ views are the same as TBN’s.
My point is: T.D. Jakes has such poor discernment that he (at best) accepts the damnable heresy of modalism as Christian, preaches the heretical “blab it-grab it” Word Faith movement, and embraces women like Paula White and Cindy Trimm who, in open rebellion against the Word of God, claim to be pastrixes.
Another example of the Word Faith movement moving more mainstream can be seen in Word Faith Heretic Cindy Trimm Receives Award From Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Again, this is guilt-by-endorsement; and slimy syncretism slithers deeper into spiritually spineless evanjellyfish every day.
In closing this, for now, below is an excerpt from the 9/1/11 edition of TBN’s Praise the Lord program where Jakes introduces Cindy Trimm. According to her bio Trimm:
is a sought-after empowerment specialist, revolutionary thinker, and transformational leader. [One who views] this world as a global village, [so] she continues to initiate strategic interdisciplinary forums, as well as host conferences and summits designed to develop practical solutions toward the healing of our world. (Online source)
To those of us who hold the Biblical doctrines of grace this reads like something out of The Human Potential Movement. Yet you’ll see T.D. Jakes is so spiritually obtuse he calls Cindy Trimm “a tremendous vessel of God” during his introduction:
Let me give you a couple of examples concerning the whacked work of Cindy Trimm who, for all intents and purposes is a female version of T.D. Jakes. This is from Commanding Your Morning, which is one of Trimm’s books where you’ll see she quite literally teaches the Law of Attraction:

Here below is Cindy Trimm in action where she’ll try and get us to believe the following absolutely absurd Word Faith mythology:
If God speaks to you in thoughts, ideas, and concepts; that’s a seed. That means, if you are able to hold onto that seed—and incubate it—until it’s fully formed, that means things are not only going to be birthed out of you, you’re going to be birthed into the thing.
Are you getting me? That means, if God is going to give you the concept of how to become a millionaire, you’re gonna birth the millionaire idea, and then you’re going to be birthed into the realm of millions. That’s what you call deliverance. (4:19-4:55)
No, that’s what you call gross deception; a phony message that scratches itching American ears and has no place in the Christian community, period. Hmm, the following clip from Dr. John Piper comes to mind. I wonder how this fits with his fellow TGC members James MacDonald, Mark Driscoll, and their ER2:
