Default T.D. Jakes Tweets On Critics

    T.D. JAKES TWEETS ON CRITICS
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Oct 26, 2011 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features, T.D. Jakes, Word Faith

Apprising Ministries begins by bringing you a salient tweet today by pastor Steve Camp:

    (Online source)

If you wish more information on this, you can fill in the rest of the back story in James MacDonald, T.D. Jakes, And Postmodern Obfuscation.

The important thing to keep in mind here is Camp is correct: The Gospel Coalition, of which both MacDonald and his ER2 co-host Mark Driscoll are members, appears to condone this violation of God’s Word.

Now you may recall that in James MacDonald, You Do Realize This Is About The Gospel, Right I pointed you to Collateral Damage in the Invitation of T.D. Jakes to the Elephant Room by TGC member Thabiti Anyabwile.

Therein Anyabwile was critical of ER2 giving Word Faith prosperity preacher and reputed modalist T.D. Jakes a forum. But then the other day we see the following tweet from James MacDonald:

So, we’re really not quite sure what happened there. We also have MacDonald’s fellow TGC member Mark Dever Out Of The Elephant Room? However, to the best of my knowledge, there’s really been no explanation.

It would seem to me that if Dever pulled out, and as far as I can tell we don’t know, he should say why. He was one who had to have agreed to be there initially and it was announced publicly; why he left should be as well.

Then today, apparently in response to Steve Camp’s tweet above, T.D. Jakes decided to tweet the following

Leaving aside that someone making this a “goal” stretches past the point of credulity, this sentiment of Jakes would sure seem to satisfy fellow ER participants like James MacDonald:

And Seeker Driven prophet-pastor Steven Furtick:

Unfortunately, the Seeker Driven/Word Faith camp—which now even seems to be rooting within the YRR sector—sees itself as above criticism. Even so, I felt led of the Lord to try and explain to T.D. Jakes:

    http://apprising.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/TD0.png

For example, I’ve put more than enough evidence of Jakes’ modalism in T.D. Jakes And The Trinity and have even written him with advice, which he never answered. However, he did reply to my tweet today:

    http://apprising.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/TD1.png

You know, we in the developing mission field of online apologetics and discernment ministry are often accused of having unsavory attitudes. But how long it is going to take until more people finally see just how surly these cult of celebrity prophet-pastors truly are.

I also really wonder how presenting primary evidence from T.D. Jakes himself concerning his ministry and beliefs, e.g. in Instruction For Word Faith Preaching and Elephant Room, T.D. Jakes, And Pastrix Sheryl Brady, makes me but a “policeman of press clips.”

So I then informed T.D. Jakes:

The fact is, I’m a pastor-teacher doing my best to faithfully discharge my duties through the various means Jesus has given me. Well I say, perhaps those who continually keep dismissing godly critics are actually the self-appointed one trying to fulfill their own visions.

T.D. JAKES SAYS KEN SILVA IS BEING OBNOXIOUS
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Oct 28, 2011 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features, T.D. Jakes, Word Faith

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. (1 Timothy 4:1)

God Is Not Trying Bring Unity In The Visible Church

Apprising Ministries continues documenting the sad slide of evanjellyfish deeper into apostasy as spiritual darkness grows.

In the Lord I’m telling you, as one Jesus sent as a pastor-teacher, that one of the most important of these teachings of demons being spread right now is false understanding of Christian unity.

There is a spiritual form of fascism being perpetrated now within the mainstream of the church visible. It began circa 1997 with the hatching in hell of the neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church and spreads its evil spores via Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM).

You’re about to see the condescending attitude of celebrity Prophet-Führers and their unity over doctrine mantra. I’ve pointed out that in violation of God’s Word James MacDonald and ER2 co-host Mark Driscoll, members of the Gospel Coalition Council, have opened a forum for Word Faith heretic T.D. Jakes.

As I reminded you in T.D. Jakes Tweets On Critics, I’ve put more than enough evidence of Jakes’ modalism in T.D. Jakes And The Trinity and have even written him with advice, which he never answered. To his credit, up until today, Jakes has corresponded with me on Twitter. This morning I noticed the following tweet from him:

    (Online source)

Then in answering a comment by @DefendOrthodoxy that “modalism is a destructive heresy” Jakes would tweet this very postmodern retort:

    (Online source)

You need to know this is actually a red herring concerning unity and a straw man argument regarding the cardinal doctrine of the Holy Trinity. There’s no one credible who’s even saying that salvation is based solely upon that doctrine. The point is: The Bible—God’s Word— teaches it, and so, we must believe it.

Then I got to the heart of the matter with the below tweet to T.D. Jakes:

    (Online source)

Well the fact is, modalism—aka Sabellianism, after Sabellius—cannot be reconciled with the Biblical Trinitarian position; i.e. it’s a different god, which is no god at all (Isaiah 43:10; Galatians 4:8). Again, in the interest of fairness, Jakes would respond; however, as you’ll see he really didn’t answer my question:

    (Online source)

Today it’s become of paramount importance to get people to define their terms. From my years of studying cults and Comparative Religion I can tell you that Jakes’ statement of belief above is terribly insufficient. For example, the same can be stated by practicing modalists—or even Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons.

Next Jakes would send a tweet that further puts him on the record concerning modalism, sometimes referred to as Oneness Pentecostalism:

    (Online source)

Because I don’t take this personally, let’s leave aside his referring to me as one who shared “obnoxious communications” and is now blocking me. It’s part of my ministry here at AM to come directly at issues, and the Lord has blessed it in that I’m able to talk with the very people whose work I am led to criticize.

As far as I can see, T.D. Jakes is a spiritual coward and compromiser who would walk in between those who teach the Trinity of the historic orthodox Christian Church and those who hold the heresy of Oneness Pentecostalism. There’s no way around it because the question I asked was very carefully defined.

    I asked Jakes:

Which God are you talking about? The Triune God of the Bible, or the fictitious god of modalism? Which one do you believe in?

This was framed on purpose as an either/or question; the Christian must believe in one or the other, the God of the Bible or the non-existant god of modalism. Note carefully that, whether he personally is a modalist or not, Word Faith mogul T.D. Jakes is still heretical because he clearly tells us one thing he doesn’t:

believe in is dividing the body of Christ.

You see; beyond any reasonable doubt, T.D. Jakes is equating both views concerning the nature of God as being within the Body of Christ, even though:

Yet another aspect of Modalistic Monarchianism / Modalism / Sabellianism is Patripassianism, which is the view that it was God the Father who became incarnate, suffered, died, and was resurrected. Patripassianism essentially teaches that God the Father became His own Son.

With all that said, Sabellianism, Modalism, Monarchianism (dynamic and modalistic), and Patripassianism are all unbiblical understandings of the relationship between the Persons of the Trinity. (Online source)

Here’s the bottom line: No one who’s been a professing Christian for years, for example someone like a T.D. Jakes, has any excuse for teaching—or condoning as Christian—an unbiblical understanding of the Trinity. This is why, instead of increasing his platform within the Christian comunity, the Lord tells us:

watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
    (Romans 16:17-18)

You had best get prepared for this battle; because now even the nature of God’s up for grabs…
