What is going on inside the American Family Association?

Oh American Family Association (AFA), I just don’t understand you.

As the last week ended, I was so encouraged to see you moving your news and blog coverage in the right direction last week.

Your discernment seemed to be up to its full throttle as I read your article on Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Courage” rally that is upcoming in Jerusalem.

You actually challenged Christians to denounce Beck’s event and billed it as simply a stab at monetary gain by the mormon Beck.

To make things even better for the discerning types, you also published a wonderful little piece by Marsha West.

In the piece, West encouraged the readers to look closely at who the religious right is aligning itself with.

West was ringing the alarm for the reader to open their eyes to the fact that many “leaders” and would-be leaders are locking step with the cult of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). West blew the whistle on women such as Cindy Jacobs and men such as Lou Engle, Chuck Pierce, C. Peter Wagner, and Dutch Sheets to name only a few.

There you stood AFA, boldly standing up and stating that as a member of Christ’s body that you

would not support leaders who would align themselves with these proclaimers of dreams and visions (despite your past alignment with them at certain events).

Change, repentance, and discernment were all in the air.

Even organizations such a Right-Wing Watch, a group that disdains you AFA, stood up and took notice.

Then, out of nowhere and with no warning or explanation, Marsha West’s piece disappeared.

Her valiant work of discernment and warning seemingly walked off your servers, no longer to be found on your website. Continue reading

Her valiant work of discernment and warning seemingly walked off your servers, no longer to be found on your website.

Why did you do this AFA?

Why did you stop the momentum that you had and take your foot off of the throat of Satan and those working evil for him in the visible church today?

Marsha West’s piece offered more Biblical evidence and actual quoting of scripture than almost anything I have

read on your website in a long time and yet that wasn’t enough for you to remain faithful to God??? Why did you do this?

We certainly know that it is not due to your concern about what the secular world feels about it.

You have a long history of standing by your guns, correct or not, on issues such as abortion,

gay marriage, and of course the extremely important Christian issues theme-park attendance and immigration.

So we know that your change did not come from external pressure.

That means that it had to have come from internal pressure. Who though and for what reason?

Who works inside AFA that would willingly take down a piece of writing that is calling Christians and American voters to carefully discern who they align with?

It is obvious that whoever it may be, has the ability and the pull to be able to have something such as West’s piece removed. Is AFA eating itself from the inside? More importantly, would Christ approve of this person pulling a writing that would be pleasing to Him off of a website?

The saddest part of this is the person inside of you AFA who initially read and approved for Marsha West’s piece to be posted.

We now know that there is at least one person inside of your walls

who not only sees the danger of the NAR and their dominionist teaching and false prophecies,

but who wants the world to see about it and become aware.

To that person, I hope that you are not discouraged. Continue to do what you are doing, educate those around you and point out the fact that the dominionist teaching is not one of gospel taught servitude, but one of abject power and control over people.

I hope that Christians who read this will pray for AFA and their leadership.

I hope that you will pray that they will stop being fooled by false teachers and will repent for the support they have given them to this point.

Also, pray for the one or more inside AFA who realize the danger and pray that they have continued courage to stand up for the word of God

and to continue to evaluate what people are saying in the name of God with the word of God.

If it doesn’t match, even a bit, then it must be thrown out.

Marsha West On Her Piece Being Removed From AFA Website

Marsha West On Her Piece Being Removed From AFA Website | as i travel thru ThisPilgrimLand

As discussed earlier on this website, the powers that be at American Family Association (AFA) decided to remove an article written by Marsha West.

The article discussed the on going forging of the mainstream religious right with the cult of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). Sadly, the article was removed due to what would seem someone from inside AFA not approving of the discernment of Marsha West.

I wanted to give Marsha West an opportunity to speak for herself on this matter and when reached for comment on this matter, Marsha West provided As I Travel Thru This Pilgrim Land with the following comments.

My article, The Religious Right uniting with Religious Renegades, was posted on the Rightly Concerned blog on May 18.

On May 20 I received emails letting me know that it was no longer there, however the “comments” were. I immediately sent an email to my contact person to alert her that my article had disappeared so that she could repost it.

    I received no answer.

I sent a 2nd email that same day to let my contact know that I had included a link in my news report and also on my Facebook wall, plus a lot of other websites/blogs had linked to it and that folks were emailing me to find out why it was no longer posted on AFA’s blog. No response.

At this point I became suspicious so I visited AFA’s Blogroll – that’s where my articles are listed — and low and behold, The Religious Right article was no longer there.

That’s when I realized it was purposely removed.

On Sunday evening, May 21, I received an email from my contact at AFA.

She said she was out of town when my article was removed which is why I didn’t receive an answer to my emails.

    Following is part of response:

“My immediate supervisor informed me that your blog was pulled Friday morning in view of the fact that it put AFA in an awkward position.

Furthermore, I was informed that Part 2 of your article would not be posted at all . . . I don’t know if this is helpful for you or not but at this time it is all I can tell you.“

AFA is a part of the Religious Right so someone in a position of authority more than likely received a bit of flak for posting a piece that questioned the RR’s association with the NAR cult and felt they had no choice but to remove it.

The way I look at it is that AFA showed real pluck when they featured my piece on their homepage.

    END

It seems obvious that Marsha West is just as confused as the rest of us on this matter.

I would like to encourage those of you who read this to follow suit of a reader of this website who contacted me with the following correspondence they had sent to AFA requesting an explanation.

I believe the following sums up the concern of many.

    Dear AFA,

I am writing to express my displeasure in that AFA removed an article written by Marsha West titled “The Religious Right uniting with Religious Renegades, Part 1″ from its Rightly Concerned Blog page.

I would like to know why that piece was removed from your site.

AFA claims to stand for truth, but the removal of this article is accidental at best and downright deceptive at worst.

If AFA would take the time to research the New Apostolic Reformation and Cindy Jacobs, Lou Engle, Dutch Sheets, Peter Wagner, etc.,

they would find that these people are heretical in their teachings.

Perhaps AFA should begin investigating those with whom they align themselves as much as they investigate the companies that violate their standards.

Why should AFA hold secular companies accountable to a Christian standard when AFA doesn’t hold those who claim to be Christians to that same standard?

I have watched as AFA has joined hands with questionable religious figures,

but the removal of this article appears to prove that AFA is willing to compromise biblical truth for personal agendas.

Please reconsider your actions; they have not gone unnoticed.

I look forward to your explanation for the article’s removal, or better yet, to the reinstatement of the article on your blog page.

    Sincerely,

The preceding was sent to the e-mail address

    faq@afa.net

Let us pray that AFA will turn against the dangerous waters they have now turned their ship into. We now know for certain that some there see the danger.
