Patrick Swayze's widow reveals: 'I still send him text messages'

Just days away from the first anniversary of his death and Patrick Swayze's widow Lisa Niemi has revealed that she still sends text messages to her departed husband.

The 54-year-old actress made the revelations in a moving interview where she talks about life without the Hollywood heartthrob, who she was married to for 34 years.

She recalled how she found herself following a long-standing tradition of texting Swayze, who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on September 14 last year, as she boarded a flight back in July.

Speaking to People magazine she said: 'I just put what I always did: "I love you". And then I cried for a little bit to myself.

'It (text message) didn't come back. So either somewhere out there he received it, or someone's going, "Somebody loves me!" And you know what? I figured it was a win-win situation.'

Her grief I'm sure at times must be hard to bear. Even harder as she has no hope of seeing him again in eternity.

As Believers we are told not to grieve as the pagans do. Instead we are to have HOPE in the Lord's promise to take us all to be with HIM for eternity. There we will be together again. So for now our separation from those who have passed away in the Lord is only a temporary one.

1TH 4:13 Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Lord be gracious and merciful and don't let people die without every opportunity to come to know and understand your great gift given to us through your own Son's blood and in repenetance take up the invitation to be with you and each other for eternity. Amen
