Jackie Alnor is a Christian media watchdog and author of The Fleecing of Christianity, a book that exposes the deceptive practices of some televangelists.

She tracks religious trends and sets the record straight when the Bible is misrepresented in the media.

Jackie has a degree in communication/media from Texas A&M University and has been reporting on televangelism for more than 25 years. She has appeared on TV and radio, and is a popular conference speaker.

John Crowder, author of the book, The New Mystics, came on the scene during the Lakeland, Florida, revival in 2008. This is the revival that put tattooed pastor Todd Bentley in the news.

According to Jackie, Crowder is descended from a spiritual stream that includes people like Rick Joyner who was associated with the Kansas City prophets.

She also links Crowder’s teachings with past activities such as the “holy laughter” movement, as well as the Toronto and Pensacola revivals.

Crowder is part of a new generation of similar “signs and wonders” and “Latter Rain” preachers and movements; aiming his teachings primarily at young people.

Crowder’s theology involves teaching people how to operate in trances, raptures and ecstatic prayer; experiencing physical phenomena of mysticism; g

etting activated in creative miracles, signs and wonders; understanding and accessing new creation realities; spirit travel, and more.

Jackie warns listeners that it’s important for us to know about these teachings because they are actually a backlash/rebellion against Christian orthodoxy and the idea that you have to be grounded in Scripture.

These “New Mystics” see the idea of spiritual grounding as being outmoded. Thinking and analyzing is something they attribute to modernity. Instead, they feel it would be better if we use other forms of thought like imagination and intuition.
