Interesting that Jimmy DeYoung has a green apple. He has been appearing on the John Ankerberg show over the past several weeks and adamantly insisted last week that unbelieving gentiles that are left behind after the Rapture will NOT be able to seek salvation during the trib and the ONLY ones who will will be the Jews that accept Christ during the trib. I found that to be a tad alarming.

Interesting that the three we like to follow here are all yellow. Interesting.

Yes, great, helpful list. I was aware of some caution advised for John hagee for the reason stated but was surprised that Charles Stanley was "yellow" and not "green". Not aware of anything that may be questionable about him, but I'm new to all of this anyway. Can someone state what doctrines of Mr. Stanley's should be taken with a grain of salt?

    A great start, Buzz.

Not yet sure what we will do with Stanley

I always listened to Swindol, MacArthur, Dobson, and Stanley daily and considered them a daily resource.

I think we have already agreed from earlier posts that Dobson and Swindol turned a sour yellow

Romans 13:11 This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

If Missler just referenced the Nephilim, as the majority of bible teachers do, it would not become such an issue, but he wanders way out into j.r. church extremities of the issue with pyramids, watchers, and all the other tinfoil add-ins.

His new book mentions purgatory as plausible and dedicates four pages to it.

Interesting list.....clarify if you will. When/where has Chuck Missler said he believes in Purgatory?

Interesting also that J.R. Church is given a yellow apple while his co-host Gary Stearman is given a green.

Finally, I thought Chuck Smith was pretty solid....what is the evidence of his date setting issues?

Thanks for the list and all your hard work Buzzardhut

The main one that bothers me is Jacob Prash Only because as I have listened to several of his programs I came across one in particular where He believes you can loose your salvation and that did not settle right with me. Other then that, he is right on..

Excellent list. I found a possible typo...in the first sentence it says: "The individuals listed below are Christians (past and present) who are compassionate about their faith". Should that not say "Passionate" instead? And the reason you're not on the list, Buzz, is what???

This is what I found on Khouse.org Chuck's Website

Nan's Corner: The Kingdom, Power & Glory How Secure Is our Salvation? - Nancy Missler - Koinonia House

    2) The second controversy seems to revolve around the pas-sages in Matthew (which speak about the coming “kingdom of heaven”) that use the term “outer darkness.”

There is a whole chapter on the “outer darkness” and its related issues in the book (pages 139-148 of KPG). Briefly, the “outer darkness” is defined by several prominent theologians, including Kenneth Wuest, Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, Erwin Lutzer and Charles Stanley (page 89, KPG), not as “hell,” but as “the darkness outside.”

As Stanley puts it: “The outer darkness refers to being thrown outside a building into the dark.” He goes on to say that the point of the three parables in Matthew that use the term “outer darkness” is that “in God’s future kingdom (the Millennium), those who were faithful in this life (those who produced “fruit” for the kingdom) will be given more privileges than those who were not.” [Parentheses mine.]

Consequently, the “outer darkness” is not a description of hell or a place of punishment, like the Catholic’s use of the term “purgatory” (see pages 63-64, KPG), but a place of restoration, renewal and reinstruction in the ways of the Lord. God does not punish His own; His desire is that all His children be reestablished in holiness. The Millennium is the time the Lord will accomplish this. (We’ll speak more about this chastening in a moment.) The Bible does not say how long an individual might be in this place of restoration, but this certainly does encourage us to be wise and heed our accountability here and now. “Fruit” does matter to the Lord.

Again, the “salvation of our spirit” happens at our new birth where God imputes His righteousness to us by His shed Blood. This assures us that no matter how we live our Christian lives here and now, we will go to be “with Him,” either at death or when the Rapture occurs. At the Bema Seat in heaven, how-ever, our lives here on earth will be examined and our future role and position established. Those that have learned sanctification and how to produce Godly “fruit” in this lifetime will be used in a greater capacity than those who have not. (Revelation 3:21)
"It is therefore a profound truth that Socialism is the natural enemy of religion. A Christian Socialist is in fact an anti-Socialist. Christianity is the antithesis of Socialism" - Socialism and Religion, Socialist party of Great Britain, 1911.

I read the synopsis on the Khouse site...the one posted. Still seems to be referencing rewards rather than salvation, but I'll reserve judgment until I read the entire book. I would be willing to bet, though, that he is not endorsing the purgatory doctrine, but we'll see.
