Twitter / Doug Pagitt: You know what never ceases ...

You know what never ceases to get me? The number of Christian blogers and tweeters that are rude, divisive, name calling people.

Galatians 4:16 "Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?"

There is a vast difference in being everybody's critic and being a critical thinker. I think they are making a false dichotomy here and trying to pit God's word against being a critical thinker. There is no justification whatsoever in trying to separate the man of God from the word of God. If anything whoever is trying to is walking on dangerous ground. I think people have actually bought into the lie that "you can't judge a book by its cover". Well if that were true then why did Jesus say you will recognize false prophets "by their fruit". We ARE to judge people by their FRUIT..
They commit the fallacy called "special pleading"-when a person holds others to a different standard than themselves without justification for that different standard." and they need to explain why their beliefs are excluded from the same scrutiny as our beliefs get.....

I guess ole Doug will have to take his "ball" and go play elsewhere. He needs to take his emergent and universalist kool-aid with him, too.

Mr Pagitt should repent and preach the pure Gospel. Then he'll see just how nasty unsaved folks can get when you try to tell them the Good News.
