Default Pro-Apostasy magazine Christianity Today compares Harry Potter to Jesus

Is Harry Potter The Chosen One?
Published July 20th, 2009 by Editor in General
If only Christianity Astray Today took the Bible as seriously as it does Harry Potter books, eh. We’re sorry, you’ll have to supply your own air-sick bags for this piece from CT:

As Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens, we are once again reminded of the characteristics that make him something of a Christ figure…

Christians who have enjoyed the Harry Potter books and films have picked up on biblical themes and truths throughout the series, and author J. K. Rowling has said that her own Christian faith informed her writing of the seven books. Many see Harry, though far from perfect, as something of a Christ figure, while his nemesis, the Dark Lord Voldemort, clearly represents The Devil himself…

If people want a "christ-figure" to admire, then why don't they pick up the Bible and read about CHRIST?

    Simple,

Harry Potter doesn't tell them that they are sinners.

Harry Potter doesn't convict them of their sin.

Harry Potter doesn't tell them they must be born again.

Harry Potter doesn't require them to believe on Christ as their Lord ad Saviour.

Harry Potter doesn't require them to commit themselves to God, and to depart from wickedness.

Harry Potter doesn't ask them to be faithful to the Lord and forsake the things of this world.

Harry Potter offers them the dark world of witchcraft that says you can have anything you desire through magic and dark spells, rather than trusting God for all that we need.

Harry Potter is of this world, and of the dark shadowy world of witchcraft that Satan has put together, rather than of the goodness and light that God has.

JK Rowling can say all that she wants that her books are "informed" by her "christian" faith. But the bible CLEARLY states that:

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:19-21, emphasis mine)

The Lord prohibited witchcraft from mankind in SEVERAL verses in order to protect us form Satan's machinations. Anything supernatural that is not of God IS of Satan, and dealings with him more often than not result in disaster and despair for those who dabble in such things.
