Default TURF PAINTING SPREADS AS DROUGHT RAVAGES LAWNS

    News from The Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- When this summer's drought turned her prized lawn brown, Terri LoPrimo fought back, but not with sprinklers: She had it painted green, making her suddenly lush-appearing yard the envy of her neighborhood.

The Staten Island, N.Y., resident and her husband, Ronnie, hired a local entrepreneur to spruce up their yard by spraying it with a deep-green organic dye. By Monday, the couple's property was aglow with newly green blades of grass and no watering needed to sustain it.

This might be a way for some who need work to make money, the article explains it.
You can find a supplier of turf paint by searching for turf paint. I thought it was interesting article.

Better hurry and clean off the diet coke. As it dries it will gum up your keys and you will have to get a new keyboard!
Don't jump at me I'm no conclusion

I wanted to add this; This is not uncommon at all. I owned a small lawncare company for years. Many of my clients were homes on the golf course. Many golf courses (the nicer private courses) will paint their grass. You cannot tell it has been painted, it appears more like they've fertilized it to death.... Homeowners who have a lawn that sits on one of the holes were often asked if they wanted their lawns done as well by the grounds crew. Naturally there was a fee, and the money, I have to assume, was pocketed by the grounds crew.... This was in the mid 90's, so I know lawns have been "painted" since then. Regardless of how often you water and what type of grass you have, nothing will make it as dark as some fresh forest green paint. lol

That's ironic that this thread popped back up today! Just this weekend, as I was driving to my mother's, I noticed a sign that said "This Month's Most Beautiful Yard Winner" and the grass was as dry, dead, and brown as possible. The things that made it 'beautiful' were that it was trimmed, a uniform color, and the potted plants and flowers by the front door.

The dead grass by the freeway is always painted where I live. I've noticed in places where water is expensive this is pretty common.

It only hides the truth that they haven't got enough rain to grow grass and they need to Seek God.

I don't know of anyone who tried this, but I always giggled when I saw the commercials. "Oh hey, nice spray on hair there Bill, looks TOTALLY natural." NOT! LOL
I'm bald myself and there is NO way that I would ever try this.
