"Mom, you're embarrassing me!"

Well-known liberal actor Brad Pitt, who once famously declared that he would not marry his partner Angelina Jolie until gay couples had the same rights, might be a little upset with his mom’s decision to speak out on her political and social beliefs this week.

In a letter to the Springfield News-Leader, Pitt’s mother Jane Pitt voiced her support for Mitt Romney, a man “who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality.”



Pitt’s mother wrote that while she is a Christian who differs “with the Mormon religion,” she is supporting the Republican presidential nominee.




“I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion,

and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon,” she wrote.




Pitt was also vocal in her opposition to “Barack Hussein Obama – a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”



Pitt closed by calling voting “a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility.”



The newspaper confirmed that the note is from Brad Pitt’s mother.


Brad Pitt has been a vocal supporter of President Obama.

He is currently engaged to Angelina Jolie, saying he took time to rethink his stance on marriage after his children were asking them about it.
