Dick Hoyt is a triathlete. His son, Rick, is severely disabled. Rick told his father that he would like to do the things his father does; that when he is with him he feels free ... as though he were actually doing the same thing as his father. So the father has chosen to carry his son with him when he runs his races.
As I watched this I thought HOW LIKE US WITH GOD! WE DESIRE TO BE WITH HIM BUT WE ARE SO HANDICAPPED IN OUR ABILITY. YET THROUGH CHRIST HE CARRIES US EVERY SINGLE DAY IN EVERY SINGLE SITUATION.
Never forget: if this earthly father can do this for the son he loves; how much more will our Heavenly Father carry us in this life, enabling us—though Christ—to do all things!
And one day we shall be like Christ and with Him and free from all earthly constraints and handicaps forever! HALLELUJAH!
Until then let us serve Him faithfully. And seek to carry our brothers and sisters who are weak in the faith, bringing them to places of strength in Christ.
