    Default THE KINGS TABLE

A while back I had a question nag me till I finally wrote Jack Kelly for his words of wisdom. The question? It might seem silly to some. I wanted to know if when we were at the wedding feast if we were feeding on Spirit and the Glory of the Lord or if it was a feast of real food. I have a reason for asking and I will get to that in a moment. Jack' response was since it doesn't say otherwise, the feast means what we we would know as a feast. Food! Since I have no idea what kind of food that might be, I got it in my head that it would be great if it was a great big pot luck type of affair that is so popular in churches today and yester years gone by.

So here's a fun thing to take your mind off today's troubles and share with others and they with you. What would you present for a dish at the Kings table for the wedding feast? I like to play with my food. That means I almost never leave a recipe alone. When I want to fix a dish, I look at 5 to 10 recipes and pick and chose till I come up with my latest masterful dish or complete disaster. Well, everything goes to waist one way or the other.

I"ll start it out with this simple but tasty treat

    Old Bay Sliders:
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/8 tsp smoke flavoring
    1/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning
    6 strips bacon ( cooked off )
3 slices provolone cheese ( cut in half )
    4 sm. rolls

Mix first three items together and form 6 patty's and grill till done. Add cheese just prior to removing from grill. Add bacon and any other condiment you chose to bun and enjoy.

Great finger food prior to the main feast. Easy, fast and can feed a multitude of people. Come on everyone. Have some fun!!!!

I like the spirit of fun, bro. And I will put my mind to thinking up some fun foods. But let us remain scriptural. Jack is correct when he says the Bible does not say what kind of food will be served at the Wedding Feast; but he is ignoring what the Bible DOES say about food in the next life. We are told what food will be there, and can also discern what food will NOT be there.

Starting with the latter— we are told that there is no more death in Heaven. So nothing can die or be killed there. Thus meat, whether beef, chicken, pork or whatever, cannot exist as we know it. Thus if there is "meat" it will have to be some sort of meat substitute or perhaps some "Heavenly" food.

Aside from such speculation we can receive what IS told us in the Bible. I point you to Revelation 22:1-2, which is an echo of Ezekiel 47:12 and a return to Genesis 2:9.

I don't know but breaking bread and passing it around sounds so cool. Yeah, I think that would be fun!

Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Adrian, I agree and that is more like the answer I was looking for. I think I could work with a substitute and still enjoy creating dishes for others to be pleased by. This is all in fun and just a way of sharing something we all have in common.
