    Default Does Anyone Prep?

For a while now, I have been concerned about what's happening in the world today, and while I know to leave all my worries to God, I also feel like I need to be prepping for emergencies and for long term. Now, I really struggled with this because I know God will take care of my needs, and he has done that and then some.

However, when I think about Noah's story and Joseph's story, I am reminded that God did not give them an easy way out of their situations. Noah wasn't given gills for example. He had to build the ark with his own sweat, blood, and tears. Same with Joseph. He had to prepare for those 7 years of famine.

Now, if I'm raptured out before this world goes kablooey, that would be fantastic. God could then direct anyone to my place for them to use. But if not, I would think that perhaps it's time on this forum that we started discussing prepping since we know we are in the last days. Any thoughts?

I'm not planning on "prepping". I can barely make it already from month to month and always have to do without or plan to pay the next months utilities...

I agree with you, readytogo, as my money situation is very tight also. I'm not planning on going to the extremes with it as I literally don't have any storage space since I live in a trailer. However, I know that I could afford to once a month buy a bug out bag, or a medical kit, or something. It's definitely not a project that could be done all in one go unless you're very rich to begin with. Still, I was wondering if anyone else has been prepping on here and if we should be doing this since we know hard days and times are coming upon us.....

We're from New Orleans so we know a little about survival. I don't think I'm a prepper but its only practical that we keep a couple of cases of mre's and lots of water, dried beans and rice and a gallon or two of bleach on hand. I keep my pantry well stocked with canned goods, peanut butter, oatmeal, powdered milk and pet milk. It's not much. I'd like all my stuff to be used if anyone needs it in the event we're raptured.

Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Recently, we came very close to having a tornado hit us, and it brought home just how unprepared we are for such events. That got me to thinking about we should be prepping for the hard times too. With all the signs that we're seeing today, and possible wars on the horizon, I really feel like we need to be warning each other to start prepping a bit. I don't mean turn into the ultimate survivalist, because I am not an outdoor girl at all. You'll be lucky to even see me getting a mud mask, let alone sleeping in a tent.

But I am going to start buying up a few medical aid kits, and try to store some extra food items here and there. Heck, with prices getting higher and higher these days, I've a feeling we're gonna be raiding it soon.

Like Anath stated, I too live in this wonderful hurricane alley area. Thus, we do keep plenty of "extras" stacked in the pantry for "just in case". The longest we've been without power was five days. During that time we did a lot of cooking for many families around the neighborhood. Have a generator to keep the refrig and freezer running, plus a couple of lights and fans for sleeping. Was shocked at the number of people that didn't keep SOMETHING stored up for the kids.

Anyway, it's just something we do. Have always done it and always will. As to stocking up food for years to come, I leave that up to the Lord. Don't expect to be around when the real "garbage" hits. I believe God at His Word. As for Noah being ready, he had direct input from the Lord as to what to do, how to build this boat, what to do, and how to be ready for what's to come. Obviously, if I had that kind on info from the Lord I'd follow it to the letter; no doubt! But, as for now, His direction is to get the word out, witness and be ready spiritually for all that's to come. I leave the rest to Him.

I agree with Mike D, am from the gulf coast; east texas and all be do is store enough food and water along gas for genrator for the fridge. As for spending that kind of money for supplies and gas masks, guns, and whatever. Naw I don't have the extra money and if I did I still would'nt. I trust in the Lord to take care us. He is in total charge over anything and everything...

    Yes ...of course!
Consider the words of Omar M. Ahmad, founder of CAIR: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant." ... "The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America , and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."
