The local news last night warned everyone that Spokeo People Search | White Pages | Find People
Had your information and was for sale to anyone wanting to purchase it.
They said to go to the website and type your name in and see what they have on you.
I did and went to the FAQ page and opted out and it said it would be removed but now I have to get my wife to do the same. I wonder how many web sites have the same info and are selling it. It has quite a bit of info on you that can be seen without buying anything. It shows your political affiliation, your house value, your income, your marriage status, etc. just thought I would pass this on to make everyone aware.

Note that Spokeo gets your personal info by combing the web. Everywhere that you have been and given info can be found by these aggregator sites. Spokeo is just one of them. You need to go to every single place online and remove your info from each of those, or else some other aggregator site will find it and put it up for sale like Spokeo.

I guess that is a big task, I wonder where they get your homes value, etc. I have never put that or some of the other stuff on a website.

I checked it out and had to laugh. My house has lost at least two-thirds of its value, and I'm Catholic(I don't know where that came from). Thanks for the post. I'll check into the opt out.
