I looooove coffee but have to limit it big time due to my thyroid. At the moment I am going caffiene free but I've been told I don't have to give it up forever. So looking forward to having a coffee soon. Actually I've been doing this since just after Christmas day.
No sugar, no caffiene (tea or coffee), no white processed stuff. No fun.

Would you believe I live in New Orleans and don't like coffee? I drink cafe au lait with beignets but that's about it (au lait is half very strong coffee and half cream). DH is trying to cut back now but he used to keep a pot of hot coffee at all times. As for me, I keep a pitcher of decaf tea and that's primarily all I drink.
Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Doesn't New Orleans typically go for a chicory blend? I don't care for that myself, very bitter. I have always enjoyed coffee, morning, and a cup after dinner is so satisfying! When I was in basic (bootcamp), since we got up at o'dark thirty, we would take a large drinking glass, fill it with 3/4 coffee, 1/4 chocolate milk, and as much sugar as would dissolve!!
I prefer mine now with a small hit of cocoa powder, and a touch of cream, and 100% Columbian if I can't find Kona. I even enjoy espresso once in a blue moon.
Yeah, chicory is very stout and is bitter without a lot of cream. Most people like the strong chicory coffee in the morning but have regular coffee during the rest of the day and night.

Does coffee ice cream count?
Coffee... Wouldn't be a day without it. I'll admit it, I LIKE the flavor of coffee. I make a pot when I get up in the mornin', fill my thermos (approx 4 cups) for work, and usually have a cup when I get home. Mostly black, just a small touch of sugar, very small, and that's all. Hate to admit it but, as I said, wouldn't be a day without my coffee...
I like coffee but don't drink a lot of it. I have read some studies that say it might lower your risk of getting Alzheimer's.
Ever tried a French Press ?
A French Press is that little silver canister you see in the coffee isle with the screen and plunger on the top of it. You put freshly ground coffee in the bottom of the canister , poor boiling water in and plunge the water throw the grounds, hence , French Press.
The results are a thicker more stronger coffee., like caffeinated motor oil. Not for the weak at heart.![]()
My favorites, right now, are Caribou Coffee's Caribou Blend, and Starbuck's Breakfast Blend(Folgers classic and GFS are good too). I drink it black and limit myself to four cups in the morning(two big mugs worth), with any more than that I take the risk of having a restless night. If I start having trouble sleeping, I'll break from the coffee for a day or two. In the afternoon it's time for hot tea, green blends, white, or anything else, and in the evening I limit myself to non caffeine teas such as chamomile, lavender, jasmine, ginger, and rooibos(red tea). On the road, I like McDonalds, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans and others. I love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning! Is there a great coffee out there, that's not too bitter, that you would recommend?
To Ducati, French Press is very good! Starbuck's Breakfast Blend is great in a French Press.
Make mine a Timmy's large iced cappucino with
extra cream.
Winter, summer, it doesn't matter, gotta have one.
If I can't get out, or don't feel like going out for one...
I make me one at home with my Ninja machine.![]()
