Default An ode to killing spiders!

I killed a spider! Oh, yes I did.
Just killed a spider, before he ran and hid!
I grabbed the broom, and swung it down...
    And now he's spread....all around!

How dare you walk through my loo,
thinking I'll scream and boo hoo.
You found out I mean biz,
'Cus now you're a "was" and not an "is"!

So the next time you think, you'll hide under the sink,
and scare me more than meeces,
You'd better run before I grab my brooooooooom.......And beeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaat you to piecesssssssssssssssssss!

(think these words to a country music song!)

    The End! (curtsy)

I don't know about "good" poetry, sis, but it sure is funny!!!

As a big, tough, scared-like-a-little-girl-when-it-comes-to-spiders man, I appreciate both the poem and the event behind it. Good one, Lori!

Spiders are a pretty hilarious issue for us here. My husband is FEARLESS, will squish them with his fingers! He does not understand my squeamishness and is determined to make me self-sufficient "in case something happens to me, you need to be able to handle these things!" So when I spot one, no matter how big, I first squeal, "Mike!!!!!! A spider!!!!! It's a big one!!!!!!" It can be the size of a head of a pin and it's still huge to me! But he won't kill the stinking things--he makes me do it! So he knows that if something happens to him I can handle it. While on one hand, his preparedness is admirable, the poor broom is getting the crap slammed out of it! lol

We don't kill spiders at our house...we scoop them up into cups and put them outside. Spiders kill other "yucky" insects, so I like for them to live~just not in my house.

I don't mind the ones outside, or the little ones. It's the nasty hairy ones like the one I killed last night, the kind that can TALK to you they're so big that don't make it out alive. Eeeek.

that's our Lori. I will deal with any spider but a mouse? No. I've been known to run out of the house and up on the patio table screaming my head off.

Think of it this way, Lor, the bigger the spider, the bigger the other nasty critter it will kill to eat!

How about: The bigger the spider, the easier it is to hit it?

You sound just like me. My son has killed our spiders for years. I nicknamed him the terminator.

Lori did it look like this

After ya smashed it I bet you had to do this.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4
