    Default Sex and the City

I have never seen an episode and am not really for or against the whole show. Has anyone here seen it and do you plan on seeing the movie? If you don't like it, what's there that you don't like? Very curious.
    Are we there yet?

I saw it a couple of times. It seemed to me to push an agenda where women could break free from a whole series of traditional expectations. They would sit around and make fun of traditional roles, obligations, and actually plot to upset the apple cart.

It also made me feel uneasy because when a vunerability was shown in a character's personality, it usually was followed up how that person was unable to cope, change, or otherwise modify their behavior. Strange to me.

Like Carl, I also found the title objectionable. I've never seen the show.

Well, the idea of strong women doesn't bother me, as I am one myself. I have never followed traditional expectations. My parents always told me "You can be anything you want to be." And I thank them for that. :) But that aside, I am ashamed to admit that in my backslidden years, I watched it every week. And looking back on it now, it was filthy. If they eliminated the sex scenes and the foul talk, it would have been a truly amusing show. But no.........they had to make it offensive so that people would watch it.

Now, my policy is not to watch anything that I couldn't watch with my parents or pastor sitting in the room with me. That cuts out a lot of movies and shows, I tell you. But, as they say "Garbage in, garbage out." We rarely go to movies anymore, nor watch them on tv. We cancelled our HBO and Showtime service (satellite) and besides saving money, we aren't watching satan's shows. Now, it's like I can't turn filth off fast enough.

I've seen a couple of episodes, and Ort is right...pure filth. So, no, I won't be going to the new SITC movie.
