The Rapture Report - Hamas: All Islamist groups will unite with Iran if Israel attacks

Hamas: All Islamist groups will unite with Iran if Israel attacks
Written: 12-15-2009
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris

In today's news headlines Hamas made a prophetic statement that students of Bible prophecy already knew from reading Ezekiel 38-39. The Iranian proxy terrorist group Hamas declared that if Israel struck Iran and their nuclear weapons program that the entire Islamic world would unite behind Iran. Folks, the fuses are about to be lit and it's not the usual 4th of July celebrations either. As I mentioned in the last couple of Rapture Reports, the news coming out of the Middle East escalates more with each passing day.

Let's take a look at the Haaretz news article that we've been talking about here. The news article reports:

Hamas leader Khaled Meshal warned on Tuesday that Islamist militant groups would back Iran if the Islamic Republic was attacked by Israel, Iranian state television reported. "All Islamist militant groups will form a united front with Iran against Israel if it attacks Iran," Meshal told a news conference. Israel and the United States have not ruled out military action if diplomacy fails to resolve the row over Iranian nuclear work that the West suspects is aimed at making bombs.

Meshal also went on to say:

The Hamas leader added: "We are all parts of the same body... We all should fight against the mutual enemy. But how, the leaders will decide based on our capacities." He further said that Israel was a danger for the Middle East region. "God willing a regional resistance has the capacity to confront this danger," Meshal said in the televised news conference.

Here we can easily see how a confederation of Islamic allies will first set themselves up for a possible fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Psalm 83, which then could lead to the major conflict as foretold in Ezekiel 38-39. I believe that the first line of attack by the Iranians after an Israeli strike will be by using the terrorist proxies on the Israeli border. Then when this fails via the possible fulfillment of Psalm 83, the Iranians will make their move along with Russia down into the mountains of Israel for their ill-fated excursion as foretold in Ezekiel 38-39. The tension in the region is very tense right now as the Middle East process has basically run off the road and over the cliff. The proxy terrorist organizations continue to arm themselves to the teeth in anticipation of a showdown with Israel. To illustrate the degree of tension in the region, the Haaretz article went on to further report:

Israel cites Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's repeated calls for the destruction of the Jewish state as a clear sign that Iranian nuclear weapons, if it acquires them, would threaten the country's existence. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran had no intention to end its support for Islamist guerrilla groups. "Supporting Palestinians is our religious and national duty. We will continue our support and will never give it up," he said at a meeting with Meshaal, state television reported. Last month, a senior Iranian cleric warned on Saturday that the country would fire missiles at Tel Aviv if attacked. "If the enemy should want to test its bad luck in Iran, before the dust from its missiles settles in this country, Iran's ballistic missiles would land in the heart of Tel Aviv," said cleric Mojtaba Zolnour.

In fact the situation is so bad on the ground that Israel's generals today issued a very sombering warning in their Chanukah messages. The Israel Nation News reported:

Three of the Israel Defense Force's (IDF) top commanders delivered sobering warnings of the country's vulnerability to attack in public lectures and Chanukah ceremonies. Maj-Gen Yoav Galant, Head of Southern Command, said in a conference at Ben Gurion University that the recent quiet period on the southern military front would probably prove temporary. "Whether it is a matter of months or years,” he said, “we see the ill-boding clouds in more than one place. We need to utilize the time that we now have in order to prepare – for war or for smaller threats.”

IDF leader Lt. General Gabi Ashkenazi also emphasized the seriousness of the situation on the ground by saying:

IDF Chief of Staff Lieut-Gen Gabi Ashkenazi said Monday at a Chanukah candle lighting ceremony that the quiet which followed the Cast Lead campaign, which was launched one year ago, could be broken at any moment. “The situation can change. It can be in these days or in the days to come. We harbor no illusions and we are sober.”

While the IDF generals were giving a grim assessment of the situation on the ground in their holiday messages, Iran's Supreme leader issued his own warnings to Israel should a conflict with Gaza erupt soon. The YnetNews reported:

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that "if the Zionist regime starts another war against the people of Gaza it will suffer an even harsher defeat and be humiliated far more than before". Khamenei spoke at a meeting he held with Hamas' politburo chief, Khaled Mashaal, in Tehran. He added that Iran saw support of the Palestinians as a "religious duty".

After looking at the news reports over the last few days we can see that the potential for conflict at anytime is very real and is very likely to occur. With the militant terrorist groups continuing to arms themselves for conflict with Israel, Iran racing to the nuclear finish line, etc. the region has perhaps never been more unstable than it is now. With Israel's enemies on the border able to strike deep into the heart of Israeli territory, we can expect that the next conflict will be very severe indeed.

With headlines like these this is all the more reasons that we need to pray without ceasing for the Peace of Jerusalem. Israel's enemies plot and plan for their demise, but we have the Word of the Lord who says that he will never allow the Jewish people to be destroyed or driven out of the land again here in these last days. So while we see the storm clouds rising fast on the horizon, we need to remember to lean and rest upon the Lord and his Word. He foreseen and foretold everything, so we should not worry about the Islamic hordes and their evil plans and plots. For they will not succeed as the Lord has promised. That we can count on.

God bless.
