The Rapture Report - Syria Moving Scuds to Israel, Turkey Borders

Syria Moving Scuds to Israel, Turkey Borders
Written: 5-6-2012
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris

A recent report by a Jordanian news site indicates that Syria is currently in the process of moving hundreds of SCUD missiles to the border with Turkey and Israel. Turkey has been a sore point for Syrian President Bashar Assad as the Turks have insisted that the nearly 14 month old civil war stop immediately. Turkey has in the past moved military assets to their own border with Syria to help fleeing refugees from Assad's reign of death. The Israel National News website is reporting:

Jordanian news site Ahbar Baladna reports that western spy satellites have recently spotted movements of Syrian heavy missile launchers northward and southward, toward Syria's borders with Turkey and Israel. The site says hundreds of high-caliber launchers are being moved, and that these could only be long range Scud missile launchers.

Syria has threatened in the past that in the event of foreign military intervention on its soil, it will not hesitate to fire missiles at Israel and Turkey in order to ignite a large scale regional war.

The movements of SCUD missiles in Syria is a serious concern as Syria has said in the past that they would not hesitate to launch a larger scale regional war. This of course would be in an effort to deflect pressure of current Syrian President Assad. These movements of these missiles comes after both France and Turkey have been mulling military intervention in Syria to stop the bloodshed. It is highly likely that Assad will try to trigger a larger war or he may in fact "go down with his ship" as a result of the civil unrest and foreign intervention.

The importance that these developments could possibly have in relation to Bible prophecy is that there is the unfulfilled prophecy in Isaiah 17 that indicates that one day Damascus will cease to be a city and will remain uninhabited. This scenario could certainly play out should Assad make a move to fire chemical and/or biological weapons at Israel. Israel for it's part has stated in the past by warning Damascus that that they take massive retaliation against Damascus should even one chemical or biological tipped weapon is launched into Israel. The prophecy in Isaiah 17 makes it crystal clear that Damascus will be utterly destroyed and this could be achieved by an Israeli nuclear weapon being fired on Damascus.

Whether this scenario plays out remains to be seen, but it would seem that the report of SCUDS being moved to the borders of both Turkey and Israel could set in motion more than Assad is bargaining for. There is also the potential that a regional conflict could help to fulfill the Psalm 83 scenario whereby Israel defeats their immediate enemies on their borders and even gains land as a result. This could of course take care of the pesky "Palestinian" problem that haunts Israel to this day. As watchman on the wall, it is our duty to watch these things as they unfold and never to take our eye of the Middle East here in these last days. For it is well known that when things break out in the Middle East they do so very quickly. You could literally blink and miss something.

As we see these things taking place we can increase our faith in God's Word that it will be fulfilled exactly as it has been foretold for thousands of years. With each step closer to prophetic fulfillment we get literally closer and closer to the rapture of the church. In fact, the rapture of the church can happen at anytime so we should always be looking up for the blessed hope of our redemption. For the Bible tells us that as we see these things taking place, to look up, for our redemption is drawing nigh. Stay tuned!

God bless.
