The Rapture Report - Gaza ceasefire starts to take effect after Israeli strike

Gaza ceasefire starts to take effect after Israeli strike
Written: 3-11-2012
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris

As reported earlier the escalation that started in Gaza on Friday with the targeted assassination of a PRC terrorist mastermind has started to subdue as both sides have starting implementing a ceasefire. Over 100 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza and the IAF has made numerous air strikes taking out further rocket launching sites. The Jerusalem Post is reporting:

There was a lull in the consistent barrage of rockets that had been fired from Gaza into Southern Israel over the past three days late Sunday night, as Hamas announced on television that Israel had informed Egypt it would stop IAF strikes in Gaza at midnight, according to Israel Radio. Palestinian terrorists have fired over 160 rockets into Israeli territory since the beginning of the escalation Friday.

The announcement would mark the first ceasefire since the IAF foiled a major terror attack, killing Zuhair Qaisi in a bombing on Friday. Until then, terrorists in Gaza fired rockets into Israeli territory for the third straight night, while the Iron Dome defense system continued to intercept rockets fired at the South's larger cities.

While the terrorists have continued to fire rockets into Israel from Gaza, the IDF's "Iron Dome" anti-missile system has performed well in stopping incoming rockets. It is being reported that the effectiveness of the system is around 90% at stopping rockets. This is a very good report and a major breakthrough for the anti-missile system. However, there are reports of the system not matching that success at other times. But overall the system is performing pretty good and has been able to reduce attacks on the general Israeli population in the south.

This fragile ceasefire will be tested over the coming days as both sides have indicated that they are not interested in a major conflict at this time. It would appear that Israel has been successful in this case despite the rocket attacks. Not only has a major terrorist mastermind and his "helpers" been eliminated, but a potential deadly attack in the future may have been stopped as well. We will continue to monitor the situation and report on any major developments. Stay tuned!

God bless.
