Has Israel floated an 'interim solution' at the United Nations in an effort to avoid a confrontation with the Palestinians and, perhaps, a majority of the world's nations mere days from the Palestinian Authority seeking to gain statehood through the world body, foregoing direct negotiations with Israel?
Could a Palestinian state be acceptably birthed by the two long-time rivals mere days from now with negotiations set to take place at a later date which would, in theory at least, resolve all of the long-standing points of contention that have upheld Middle East peace efforts thus far? It's an intriguing question at this hour.
All roads lead to Antichrist
Should an 'interim solution' materialize from the frantic diplomatic efforts currently taking place to prevent the United States from having to veto a unilateral Palestinian statehood attempt, what role could (KEYWORD: could) it play in the fulfillment of bible prophecy? A very interesting one to say the least, particularly if the agreed upon time frame for negotiations and implementation of a final status agreement on all issues were to be set at seven years. This would be even more the case if such a solution should require a prince (a leader holding a position of great authority) to confirm (or make strong) the components of such an agreement (or covenant). (See Daniel 9:27)
Am I suggesting I believe the advent of the Antichrist could occur within the next 48 hours? Absolutely not. But, as I have alluded to many times in the past, the closer we get to the return of Christ, the more scenarios like this one we are seeing pop up on the end times landscape. From within any of these scenarios, fulfillment of bible prophecy could eventually materialize.
Having examined how a mutually agreed upon 'interim solution' could bring us closer to fulfillment of bible prophecy concerning the advent of Antichrist, let's look at how the current Palestinian statehood effort coming to a successful conclusion could have a similar end result.
Should the Palestinian Authority somehow manage to be successful in its September 23rd attempt to unilaterally declare statehood, the aftermath is going to be ugly - or far worse. Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has warned there will be "harsh and grave consequences" if that scenario plays out. There is no doubt Lieberman is correct. The instant the United Nations gives license to the birthing of "Palestine", radical elements inside Gaza and the West Bank will begin preparing for and waging war against Israel openly. This will be a natural byproduct of such an action because Israel has made it crystal clear that the Palestinians are not going to be permitted to determine what belongs to the sovereign state of Israel and what doesn't.
Should Hamas and other factions begin waging war against Israel in an attempt to liberate "Palestine" and be met with a crushing military response, how would the international community react? With consternation no doubt. The likely end result of Israel defending itself against something we would probably hear referred to as "the collective will of the world" would be the United Nations looking for a way to force the Jewish state's hand where "Palestine" is concerned. Make no mistake about it, the leaders of the U.N. would be seeking some way to police the Middle East to the disadvantage of Israel's survival, which would set the stage for the advent of the Antichrist once again.
The bottom line? No matter how the events of the coming days play out, all roads lead to Antichrist. The only question that remains to be answered is how many more miles are left to be traveled.
Keep looking up!
