WorldNetDaily.com is reporting that actor Brad Pitt's mother, Jane Pitt, is now the subject of death threats because she recently penned a letter to the editor of Missouri’s Springfield News-Leader in favor of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
It wasn't Mrs. Pitt's support of Romney that brought a firestorm of hatred, vulgarity and threats of violence against her, but her expression of Christian values against the liberal pro-abortion and pro-homosexual policies of President Obama.
The following is a sampling of the vile, hate-filled comments WND indicates have been directed at Mrs. Pitt in the aftermath:
"Brad Pitt’s mom, die."
"Brad Pitt’s mom wrote an anti-gay pro-Romney editorial. Kill the b*tch."
"Brad Pitt’s mom is a dumb c*nt."
The 'tolerant' Left. It's always a pleasure to see how gentle, understanding and considerate they are toward the opinions and spiritual convictions of Christians like Jane Pitt, isn't it? Seriously! Are they the embodiment of the tolerance they implore others to show to their ungodly causes or what? I never cease to be amazed, not to mention repulsed.
It must've been something she said
Because we've been conditioned (or more appropriately deceived) to suspect there must have been an ugly tone taken by Mrs. Pitt for the passive, peace-loving and tolerant Left to go ballistic over something as innocuous as a letter to the editor of a newspaper, I want to dispel that notion before commenting further.
Below is the full text of Mrs. Pitt's letter:
"I have given much thought to Richard Stoecker’s letter (“Vote for Mormon against beliefs,” June 15). I am also a Christian and differ with the Mormon religion.
But I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.
Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.
I hope all Christians give their vote prayerful consideration because voting is a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility."
So, there it is. Typical of liberal sensationalism run amok, the above is what the Left is demonizing as a hate-filled, gay-bashing letter. Ridiculous, isn't it?
Mrs. Pitt, you are not alone
God has told us we are not to kill, as documented in Exodus 20:13. I'm certain that commandment extends into the wombs of women everywhere, inside many of which beating hearts are today being stilled by abortion on demand all over the United States of America. President Obama supports the killing of the unborn (even in the latter stages of pregnancy), I do not and I stand today in support of Brad Pitt's mom.
God has defined His sacred institution of marriage to us clearly in Scripture (Genesis 2:24) and has condemned as sinful the homosexual lifestyle itself (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27). President Obama supports the defilement of biblical marriage in addition to all manners of sexual immorality (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender), I do not and I stand today in support of Brad Pitt's mom.
Many in today's world hate Christians like Jane Pitt, me and you if you're striving to live your life in obedience to God. While this fundamental truth is unpleasant and somewhat frightening at times, it's part and parcel of being a Christian in these end times. It should come as no surprise to any of us.
Jesus told us, in Matthew 16:24, to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow Him! If we converted that admonition to more modern terminology, it would be akin to Jesus asking us to take up our electric chairs and follow Him. I don't know about any of you, but I can't picture myself toting around an electric chair with Jesus through a field of daisies. There's a reason for that.
When we deny ourselves and begin to follow Jesus Christ, we are, at the very least, figuratively slain where the world is concerned. At its worst, following Christ can get one literally slain! This Mrs. Pitt is today, perhaps, more aware of than she has ever been before. Reportedly, the WND correspondent who recently talked briefly with her concerning the uproar caused by her letter heard some fear and despair in her voice, a natural reaction that in no way reflects negatively on her.
Having endured a variety of threats directed at me during my former career in law enforcement and within the capacity I am presently serving the Lord in, I have on occasion felt some fear and despair myself, but Christ's words recorded in Scripture put everything in proper perspective for me and I'm comforted by it. I hope any of you who have been or presently are being persecuted for your faith will be as well.
John 15:18-20: If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Matthew 5:11-12: Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
If you're a Christian, are you ready to face a little heat from the world to stand with Almighty God where His precepts are concerned? Jane Pitt was and she is figuratively being burned at the stake for it now, in no small part because her famous son and his fiance, Angelina Jolie, are supporters of both President Obama and the homosexual agenda. We should keep her in prayer during this stressful time and follow her godly example of peaceful expression in support of Christian values every chance we get.
Standing up for Christian values in an ungodly world won't make any of us popular with rebellious mankind, but it will pay dividends in the prophetic future. We have God's Word on it! As such, given the option of an easy road to travel here with little or no reward awaiting me in heaven or a bit of a bumpy ride here with great reward awaiting me in heaven, I'll take the gravel road to glory every time. I hope you will as well.
God bless you all.
