Israel: The Emergent Global Superpower

4 March 2009: I believe the bountiful abundance of wealth and physical security described in Ezekiel 38/39 constitutes a fulfillment of the blessing of obedience promised to Israel by the LORD in Deuteronomy 28:1-12. Although Israel has not become fully obedient to the Lord, the process and ultimate appointment on the day when Israel becomes obedient are has been underway in the land since May 1948. I believe we are living in the closing decade of that process and imminent fulfillment of the prophecies which will manifest it in the very near future. Achieving this blessing will promote Israel to the status of a global "superpower," meaning a nation "capable of influencing international events and the acts and policies of less powerful nations." This, in essence, is what Deuteronomy 28:1-12 describes for Israel in the near future and Ezekiel 38/39 confirms.
As discussed throughout the thirteen month existence of this Eschatology Today blog, the imminent prophetic events to be fulfilled as predicted in Isaiah 17, Psalm 83 and Zechariah 9, along with the associated prophetic templates found in Joshua 13, Judges 4, Judges 5, 1 Kings 5, 1 Kings 18, and still other prophetic passages which have yet to be cited, constitute the ever increasing imminence of their fulfillment as is currently being noted in both the faithful and the secular world. These are the "wars and rumors of wars" of which we should have no fear in their occurrence, for as the LORD has said they "must take place." Those "other" prophetic verses I refer to above are not cited here simply because we have not completely identified, discerned and collated the entirety of the LORD's prophetic perfection, yet we know that everything that will happen is written within the pages of His Holy Word; Ecclesiastes 1:9 declares it so.
The Current Situation
As noted previously, the nations of the Arab League all contributed troops or war materiel in Israel's war of independence in 1948 and represents the bulk of the "inner ring" or front-line states named in Psalm 83. The most recent news report I have seen now places the Arab League as the power broker authorizing indirect Palestinian Authority negotiations with Israel. I believe the direct involvement of the Arab League in these negotiations is critically important relative to these very prophecies. It is no small item to note that the Arab League has limited these talks to a four month period. Should these talks result in no progress or be preempted via a war instigated by Iran, Syria or their terrorist proxies the conditions will exist even more so for a fulfillment of the relevant prophecies, specifically with respect to verses 3 and 4 of Psalm 83, and which precede and set the conditions for the War of Gog/Magog in manifestation of the immense wealth and physical security spoken of by Ezekiel.
Prior to this apparently imminent war erupting, I believe that the LORD is going to speak, or has already spoken, directly to someone in Israel as He did to Deborah in ancient times; perhaps it will be Bibi Netanyahu as Israel's current leader. I believe the result of LORD's instruction will be that Israel's leader will gather his generals as Deborah gathered in Barak and his sub-commanders. He will then faithfully and courageously lead Israel against all of these enemies. The ultimate result undoubtedly will be the incredible prophetic promise of faithfulness found in Hebrews 11.
