Blood Moons indicate Rapture or Tribulation?
Answered By: Chris
Question: Do the blood moons and eclipse indicate rapture or tribulation?
Answer: The rapture is a signless event that can happen at anytime. The rapture is not dependent on blood moons or eclipses. Despite the buzz in the Bible prophecy community about a coming blood moon tetrad, we can't determine when the rapture is as it is imminent. If the rapture had to happen during an eclipse or blood moon, then the doctrine of imminency would be wrong.
As for the tribulation period is concerned, blood red moons are mentioned in Revelation during the time known as the tribulation period. There are other references in the Bible that point to a blood moon before the tribulation period as well.
While there is quite a buzz in the Bible prophecy community regarding 4 coming "orange-red" moons, it is my opinion that these blood moons are not the ones spoken of in the Bible. I believe that the blood moons mentioned in the Bible will be supernatural blood moons that are similar to those that happened in the past (at the Cross) when God was trying to tell man something significant. These previous blood moons were not a matter coincidence as a result of normal lunar paths, but instead a sign from God. We are told in the Bible that in the end times there will be signs in the "sun, moon, stars, heavens, etc." If anything, this should keep us looking up at all times.
